When we enter Mal, Evie, and Carlos are already standing around the round table in the middle of the boys dorm. "Finally there you are." Mal says a bit irritated. "Are you okay?" Evie asks as I walk towards them. "Yeah, I am fine." I say as I stand beside Mal. Jay stands beside me and bumps his shoulder against mine. I look at him and he smirks. "So you made a plan?" I ask Mal as I look at the papers that lie in front of her. There is a drawing of the wand and a drawing of our house. There is also a blueprint of the hall where the coronation will take place. "Okay, we all know what this looks like." Mal starts as she points at her drawing of the wand. "So, we'll be up on the dais under the Beast's spell jar and we'll be coming in from here." Mal says and she points at the entrance of the hall. "Kara will be in the very front." Mal says as she looks at me and I nod. "We will be up in the balcony." Mal says, referring to the rest of my friends. "Okay." Evie says. "Carlos?" Mal asks. "Okay, so I'll find our limo, so we can break the barrier and get back on the island with the wand." Carlos says. "Perfect. Evie?" Mal says. "Yeah?" Evie says. Mal grabs a perfume bottle from her bag and hands it to her. "You will use this to take out the driver. Two sprays and he'll be out like a light." Mal says. "Okay." Evie says as she nods. I look at Carlos and give him a sad smile. He, Jay, and Evie walk away from the table and I sit down on one of the chairs together with Mal. Mal grabs the blueprint and looks over it. I stare at the table in front of me. We are really going to do this. I am not sure how I feel about it. I kinda like it here to be honest. But I am not about to turn my back on my friends. They need to do this and I understand that. But what will Ben think? I mean we will take the wand and return to the Isle and then my friends' parents will take over Auradon. And after all that Ben will still be in love with me. At least I think so. Mal said that the spell was pretty strong. Am I that evil? Do I really want Ben to stay in love with me even tho we will be ruling Auradon then? He's such a sweet boy who just wants what's best for his kingdom. I can't let him be in love with me when we take over. I am just not like that.
I lean forward. "Mal?" I ask softly. "Yes?" she says. I look around to see if anybody hear her but there are all thinking and aren't paying any attention to us. I sigh. "I don't want Ben to be in love with me when we take over Auradon." I say. "Do you have a spell to break the love spell?" I ask. "Uh, yes. One moment." she says and she grabs her spell book and starts flipping through the pages. "Here it is." she says as she puts the book in front of me. I stare at it. "Do you need my help?" she asks. "Uhm, I would rather do it alone if you don't mind." I say. "That's okay." she says as she gives me a sad smile. I start reading the list of ingredients and how to make the cupcake. "Ra?" someone says and I look behind me and see Evie looking over my shoulder. "You want to break Ben's love spell?" she asks. "Yeah." I say and she shakes her head. "You know, for after." I say. "I don't-" Evie starts as she sits down on the chair beside me. I look at the book and swallow. "I've just been thinking, you know, when the villains invade Auradon and begin to loot and kick everyone out of their castles and imprison their leaders and destroy all that is good, beautiful, and sweet. Ben still being in love with me just seems a little extra cruel." I say softly, not taking my eyes off the book. Evie grabs my hand. I look up at her and see that her eyes are a little red and she nods softly. I give her a sad smile and squeeze her hand. Then I feel a hand on my right shoulder and I immediately know that it is Jay. I place my hand on his and squeeze. I love my friends and I am willing to do anything for them.
I grab Mal's spellbook, get up, and walk out of the room. No one stops me, everybody just needing a little time of their own. I walk towards our dorm but just before I can open the door, somebody calls my name. I look up and see Ben walking towards me. "Ben." I say. "Hey, how are you?" he asks as he comes to a stop in front of me. "I'm good." I say and give him a small smile. He frowns. "Do you want to go on a walk?" he asks. "Yeah, I'd like that. Let me put this in the dorm and then we can go." I say as I gesture to the book in my hands. Ben looks at it. "What is it?" he asks. "It's Mal's. She asked me to bring it to our dorm for her." I say. "What's in it?" he asks. "Uhm, I don't know. Mal doesn't like it when you touch her stuff. She gets angry, so I don't try to." I say. He lets out a small laugh. I smile and open the door. I throw the book on her bed and close the door again. Ben puts out his arm and I link mine through his. We walk out of the school and into the night. I have no idea where we are going. All I see are trees. We just walk in silence, and I like it to be honest. "So I heard what happened." Ben says. Well, I guess nothing can last forever right? "What are you talking about?" I ask him. I look up at him and see that he is looking at me. "You ran out of Remedial Goodness 101." he says. "Okay." I say as I unhook my arm and stand in front of him. "The class was over. So technically I didn't run out of class." I say as I point my finger at him. "Hey, hey." he says as he rubs my arms. "No one is accusing you of anything. I was just concerned." he says. "Ow." I say and frown. He laughs and hooks his arm with mine again. "So, tell me what happened." he says. "Well, you know that Fairy Godmother had arranged this meeting because of Family day. So we got to have a call with our parents. Well, Evie, Mal, Jay, and Carlos' parents. And even tho they don't really treat their kids that nicely, you can still see that they love their parents. And it made me think of my parents and that just got me frustrated. And I couldn't handle it anymore. I just had to get out of there so I ran and ran and ran. Through the woods, until I came at this clearing and I just fell down and-" I ramble. "Okay. Stop, stop. Take a break." Ben interrupts. I stop talking and look him in the eyes. "Take a breath." he says. I take in a deep breath. "Better?" he asks. "Better." I say. "Okay, so what happened when you were at the clearing?" he asks. "Well, Connor called for me actually." I say. "Connor, really?" he asks. "Yes." I say. "What was he doing in the woods?" he asks. "He said that he saw me running into the woods so he came after me to make sure that I was okay." I say. "Sounds like Connor." Ben says with a smile. "Yeah, we walked back to school together." I say. "Which reminds me. Can I ask you something?" I ask. "Yes, of course." he says. "Okay, so I know that it really isn't any of my business. And if you don't want to tell me then really that is fine, I will just accept that. And if you don't know the answer, wait of course you know the answer-" I ramble again. "Kara." Ben says. "Right. So, why aren't there any more children from Wonderland here?" I ask. I feel Ben tens up beside me. "What do you mean?" he asks. "Well, I haven't seen any other children from Wonderland here. Except for Connor of course. So that got me thinking. The Mad Hatter has a son, so why wouldn't Alice or the Red Queen have any children. Why wouldn't the White Queen, or white rabbit have any children." I say. "Well, to be honest, I don't know." Ben says. "You don't?" I ask in surprise. "Why does that surprise you?" he asks. "Well, I just assumed you knew, because you are the King. Doesn't Wonderland fall under your rule?" I say. "Well, let's just say that Wonderland is an exception." he says. "So you do know something about Wonderland then." I say. "Not much. I don't know if the Mad Hatter is the only one who has children or if there are more who have. I tried to talk to Connor about it but he wouldn't tell me anything. I guess it just lies a bit sensitive." he says. "Yeah." I say and I stare into the nothingness. "You alright?" he asks. "Yeah, I just thought that you knew more." I say. "Well, if you want answers you'll have to talk to Connor." he says. "I know." I say and I let out a yawn. "Looks like somebody is getting tired." he says and smiles at me. "Well, it was a long day." I say. "Let's get you back then." he says. The rest of the walk is silent. When we arrive at the door of my dorm I unhook my arm. "Thank you for listening Ben." I say as I face him. "Just know that-" he starts but I interrupt him by placing a kiss on his cheek. "I know." I say as I pull back. I open the door and step inside. When I turn around to close it Ben is still standing there with his mouth slightly open. "Goodnight Ben." I say with a big smile as I close the door.
I look around in the dorm but see that Mal and Evie aren't in it. I walk further inside and then I hear two voices coming out of the bathroom. Not wanting to confront them, I quickly take Mal's spellbook and sneak out the dorm before they see me. I walk towards the kitchen and start grabbing everything I need to make the cupcake. When everything is in the bowl I start stirring. Then the music just cues and I start to sing.
"A million thoughts in my head
Should I let my heart keep listening?" Tears start to stream down my face.
"I know it's time to say goodbye
So hard to let go" I blink and a tear falls from my eye and into the mixture. And it doesn't bother me that I am standing here crying. I think I care about Ben, I mean I wouldn't know because I've never really loved someone before. But I can't place him above my friends. I close Mal's spellbook.

I wake up from Evie who is shaking me. I groan. "Just give me five more minutes." I say as I try to slap her away. "Come on the parents will be arriving soon." she says. "So?" I ask. "That means that the event will begin shortly." Mal says. "Do we really have to go?" I ask as I sit up. Mal and Evie are already fully dressed and ready. Evie is wearing a dress. It has black shoulders, and the body is a mixture of mainly blue. However, it has a few black and green stripes through it. She is wearing black heels and her hair is slightly slid back because of her tiara. I look at Mal. She is wearing a white blouse with a light purple jacket on top. The jacket has short sleeves and the inside of the jacket is blue. She is also wearing a blue and light purple skirt. She is wearing black heels and in her hair, there is a golden pin. My eyes whiden slightly at the sight of her. I've never seen Mal this girly. "Yes, we do." Mal says. Just then the door swings open and Jay and Carlos walk into the room, swinging the door shut behind them. Jay is wearing a white blouse with a red jacket on top. The body of the jacket is red and the sleeves are black leather. He is wearing a pair of black jeans and black sneakers. Carlos is also wearing a white blouse. He also has a red tie around his neck and a black velvet jacket. He is also wearing black jeans together with black shoes. "Are we ready?" Carlos asks while holding Dude in his arms. "Well, well, will you look at that?" Jay says as he walks towards me. "It appears that our princess is a late sleeper." he smirks. I take one of the cushions and throw it at him. They all laugh as it hits his face, which messes up his hair. "Come on Kara, or we will be late." Evie says. I grunt. "Fine." I say. "I already put an outfit together. It's ready for you in the bathroom." Evie says. I stand up and walk towards the bathroom.
After about ten minutes I am all done. I look into the mirror. I am wearing a red flowy dress that reaches just above my knees. It has a v-neck and no sleeves. At the top the fabric hugs my body, then there is this piece of fabric that ties in a bow in the front that's around my torso. From that piece, the fabric just falls down in different lengths of layers. The shoes I am wearing are black heels. Pieces of leather kris cross across my foot which gives it an elegant look. I step out of the bathroom and into a room full of laughter. I immediately smile. I like it when my friends are happy. "You look good." Jay says. "Thanks, handsome." I say. Evie stands up from her seat and walks behind me. She starts to section my hair and tie it. "There now you look perfect." she says. "Thanks, E." I say. "You're very welcome." she says. "Here take a look." she says as she guides me over to the big mirror in our room. She grabs a little mirror and puts it behind my head. Through the mirrors, I can see that she did my hair in a half up half down and then separated the hair from the upper part and twisted the hair through it so now it runs in spirals. "Looks great." I say. She smiles. "Now we really need to get going, because we are already late thanks to you." she says as she grabs my arm and starts dragging me out of the room.
