Everyone including me gasps. Jane is holding the wand with two hands and points it at the ceiling. Who would've thought? Mal really did a good job getting into her head. A blast shoots out of it and out of the building who knows where. Well, actually think I know where. Towards the Isle to break the barrier. Everybody takes a few steps back. "Child, what are you doing?" Fairy Godmother asks as she takes a few steps forward, but not too close. The blast out of the wand stops. "If you won't make me beautiful, I'll do it myself!" Jane says as she starts to swing with the wand. It seems like the wand is out of control since Jane is trying to hold it in place with both hands while sparks fly out of it. Ben runs towards me and stands in front of me to protect me. "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!" Jane yells and she spins around in a circle. "Take cover!" Adam yells as Jane keeps thrashing around with the wand. Everybody steps back and I run around Ben towards Jane. I stand beside her and have one hand on the wand but she turns her back towards me. "Careful, Kara!" Belle yells. With my other hand, I push Jane aside and she stumbles back, her grip on the wand loosens and I take it out of her grasp. Everyone ducks as a few sparks shoot out of the wand, but when I hold the wand in front of me it seems like the wand is back under control. There aren't coming any sparks out of it and I am not thrashing around trying to hold it in my grip. I pant slightly. Jane looks at me with an open mouth. Then she looks around and realizes what she has done and she runs to the side. Ben steps in front of me and puts up one hand. "Kara, give me the wand." he says. "Stand back." I say. I hear the doors open and footsteps running towards me and I know they are my friends. "It's okay." Ben says as he steps forward. "Ben, I said stand back!" I yell. "I told you so!" Audrey says as she steps forward. I turn towards her and she screams as she stumbles back. I turn back towards Ben and I hear my friends stop behind me. "Let's go!" Carlos says. "Revenge time." Jay says. "You really want to do this?" Ben asks. "We have no choice, Ben! Their parents-" I start. "They made their choice." Ben interrupts me. I frown. "Now you make yours." he says. I look him in the eyes and then I look at Adam, Belle, and Fairy Godmother. Ben's right. I don't have to be like my father. I don't have to choose evil. "I think I want to be good." I say. "You are good." Ben says. "How do you know that?" I yell. "Because...Because I'm listening to my heart." he says. I look down at the wand. "I want to listen to my heart, too." I say. I look back up at him and see a faint smile. "And my heart I telling me that we are not our parents." I say as I turn around to face my friends. I let out a laugh. "I mean, tormenting the Isle to impress your mother doesn't make you happy." I say as I look at Mal. "Going to art class and hanging out with Connor does." Mal smiles and blushes. "Evie, you do not have to play dumb to get a guy." I say as I look at her and she shakes her head. "You are so smart." I say and she laughs. "And you," I say as I look at Carlos. "Scratching Dude's belly makes you happy. Who would've though?" I say and he smiles. "And Jay." I say as I smile at him. "Stealing things doesn't make you happy. Tourney and victory pizza with the team makes you happy." I say and we laugh. "And I don't want to take over the world with evil. It doesn't make me happy." I say as a tear runs over my cheek. "I want to go to school." I say as I nod. They smile at me. "And be with Ben." I say. "Because Ben makes me really happy." I say as I turn around to face him and put the hand with his ring on my index finger up. "Aww." everybody says. He gives me a small smile. I let out a sigh and turn back around to my friends. "Us being friends makes me really happy. Not destroying things." I say. They shake their head. "I choose good you guys." I say as I put my fist forward. They are silent for a few seconds and I look at them. "I choose good, too." Jay says as he puts his fist against my fist and smiles at me. "I choose good." Mal and Evie say at the same and they both put their fists against ours. We all look at Carlos. "So, just to be clear, we don't have to be worried about how really mad our parents will be?" he says and we laugh. "Because they're gonna be really, really mad." he says. "Your parents can't reach you here." Ben says as he takes a step forward. Carlos looks at him. "Okay, then." he says and puts in his fist. "Good." he says. I look at Ben. "Come on." I say. He steps forward until he stands between me and Mal. He puts out his fist and the crowd applauds. I put my head on his shoulder as I look around at my friends. They all have a smile plastered on their faces.
    Then suddenly there is a loud swooshing sound and we all stumble back. We look up and through one of the windows, a green smoke flies inside. It circles around a pillar and flies straight towards us. Then the smoke lands and Maleficent appears. "I'm back." she says as she turns around to face Fairy Godmother. "It can't be." Mal says. "Go away mother." she says. Maleficent laughs. "She's funny." she says between laughs and snorts. "Oh. I'm so...You're very funny here." she laughs. Then she stops laughing and turns towards me. "Wand me. Chop-chop." she says as she spreads her arms. I point the wand at her. "No!" Ben yells. I throw the wand to Fairy Godmother. She catches it and starts swinging it around, magic coming out of it. "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-" she chants. "Boo." Maleficent says and she raises her staff. Everyone is frozen in place. "Sike." Maleficent says as she looks at us and snickers. She turns towards Adam. "Oh." she says as she walks towards him. She takes off his glasses. "In another time, in another time." she says as she looks at him. Then she starts to sing some kind of melody that I've never heard before and she puts the glasses back on top of his head. Then she walks towards Fairy Godmother and grabs the wand out of her hands. She laughs. "Oh. Oh, no. Someone needs to pluck their nose hairs." she says as she puts the tip of the wand in Fairy Godmothers' nose. She looks at us. "Where shall we begin?" she asks. "I know." she says as she steps under Fairy Godmothers' arm and in front of her. "Why don't we start by getting rid of this?" Maleficent says and she points the wand at me. My hand shoots up and Ben's ring flies from my finger and on the wand. I gasp. "Perfect fit!" Maleficent says. I look at my finger and she laughs. She ducks under Fairy Godmothers' other arm but her horns hit the arm. "Oh. Excuse me. Pardon me. Excuse me. The horns, the horns!" she says. I let my arm fall beside me and Mal puts her hand on my shoulder and squeezes in it. Maleficent walks towards Ben and chuckles. "Falling in love is weak," she says as she pulls Ben's head to face her. She pushes the crown so it's crooked on his head and then pushes his head back again. "And ridiculous." she says. A tear rolls down my cheek. "It's not what you want." she says. "You don't know what I want!" I say to her. She looks angrily at me. "You never asked me what and want and you wouldn't know because you aren't my mother." I say. "Pardon me." she says. "I took you under my wing and treated you like a daughter-" she starts. "Is that how you call it?!" I interrupt her. "Yes!" she yells. "I'm not like you." I say. "Obviously. I've had years and years and years and years of practice being evil. You'll get there." she says. "No. I will not. And I wish for Mal's sake that you had never gotten there yourself." I say. I take in a deep breath. "Love is not weak or ridiculous. It's actually really amazing." I say as I let out a laugh. "I know one thing, young lady. You have no room for love in your life!" she yells. "Do it Kara." I hear a voice whisper and it's like my instincts just take over. "And now I command, wand to my hand!" I say as I put out my hand. Maleficent leans backward as golden streaks start to swing around the wand. She tries to hold on but it shoots out of her hand and into mine. "It worked." I say softly. How? I don't have any magical powers. "I hardly think so." Maleficent says as she starts to walk in circles. "Frankly, this is tedious and very immature. Give me the wand. Give me the wand!" she yells to me. "Hold on, Kara." Carlos says. "Maybe good really is more powerful than evil." he says as he steps beside me. "Oh, please! You're killing me." Maleficent says and she barks at him. Dude barks as he runs towards Maleficent and jumps on her. "Oh! Breath! Breath! Get off me!" she says as she pushes him to the ground. Jay runs forward and puts his hands on her staff. Maleficent leans forward and touches his biceps. I growl. "Gaston should be jealous." she says and then she flicks him on the head and he falls backward. She laughs as I run towards him. "Are you alright?" I ask. "Yeah." he groans as I help him up.
    "Mom stop this now." Mal says as she steps forward. "Unfreeze them and then-" she starts "Enough!" Maleficent yells and Mal falls silent. "You all will regret this!" she says as she starts to walk in circles. Her staff starts to glow and then she goes up in green smoke and she becomes a dragon. We gasp and take a few steps back, except for Jay. She fires fire at him and he rolls out of the way. He runs through the people and around a pillar, but she appears in front of him. "Come on, run, Jay, run!" Carlos yells to him and he turns around and starts running up the pedestal. Maleficent appears behind that and flies up and turns around. "Jay!" I yell and he turns around and we start running. "I got an idea." Evie says and we stop running. "Magic Mirror, show your bright light!" she yells as she puts it out and points it towards Maleficent. We all hide behind Evie and her mirror and we watch as she blinds Maleficent. She crashes to the floor. "Behind me, E!" Mal says as she steps forward and pushes Evie behind her. "Leave my friends alone!" she yells as Maleficent looks at her and flaps her wings. "This is between you and me, Mother." Mal says. Maleficent moves closer and snarls. "The strength of evil is good as none when stands before five hearts as one." Mal starts to chant. We look at each other and take a step closer to Mal. Maleficent eyes turn green and we all know that they are having a stare-off. "The strength of evil is good as none when stands before five hearts as one." Mal says louder this time. "The strength of evil is good as none when stands before five hearts as one!" Mal yells one last time. None of us dare make a sound as Maleficent and Mal stare at each other. Then suddenly green smoke surrounds the dragon and it swirls around. Mal gasps and looks back at us. Then we hear a sound and look towards the pedestal. Fairy Godmother is unfrozen. We run forward to where the green smoke turns into something really small. "What just happened?" Carlos asks. "I have no idea." Mal says. "Did you do it?" Evie asks. "I don't know." Mal says as we come to a stop. We look at the ground and there is a lizard on the ground. "No, no, no, no." Fairy Godmother says as she runs towards us. "Your mother did. She shrank to the size of the love in her heart. That's why it's so itty-bitty." she explains. "Is she gonna be like that forever?" Mal asks as she kneels down and looks at her mother who is now a lizard. "Well, forever is a long time. You learned to love. So can she." Fairy godmother says and Mal lets out a laugh. "I believe this belongs to you." I say as I stop forward and hand her the wand. She smiles at me. "And I believe this belongs to you." she says as she hands me Ben's ring. I take it from her and slip it back on my index finger. "You all have earned yourselves an "A" in Goodness class." she says. We all laugh and Evie and Mal give each other a high five.
    "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!" Fairy Godmother says as she waves the wand around. Everyone unfreezes and Ben roars and starts shouting as he runs towards us. "Okay, okay." I say as I put out my arms and stop him. "We kind of got this all wrapped up here." I say. He looks at me and lets out a few breaths. Then he tilts me up by my waist and I let out a small scream of surprise and he laughs. He spins me in a circle and then puts me down again. "Next time I rescue you, okay?" he asks. I laugh and put my hands on his shoulders. "Yeah. Let's not let there be a next time, okay?" I say as I pull him in for a hug. When we pull back I tilt his crown so that it stands crooked on his head and laugh. I look to the side and see that Fairy Godmother is talking to Jane and she looks angry. "I will be right back." I say and I walk towards them. "I love you. But you are on a major time-out." Fairy Godmother says to Jane. I stand next to her, put a hand on her shoulder, and look Jane in the eye. "Don't be too hard on Jane. It was my idea to put all that crazy stuff in her head." I say. She looks at me with a frown. I take her hand. "You are beautiful inside and out. Your mom got that right." I say and I smile at her. "I guess I did get pretty lucky in the mother department." she says. "Yeah, I guess so." I say. I let go of her hand and they walk away. I look to my left and Audrey is standing there, looking at me. The corners of her lips raised slightly. I bow for her. She laughs and bows back. "Hey!" Mal says and I turn around. She was talking to Connor and now there is a butler who puts a glass dome over the lizard. "Careful." she says as she steps in front of him. "That's my mom!" she says and I let out a laugh. She walks towards Ben, Evie, Jay, and Carlos who stand side by side, each of them an arm around each other. "Well, what are you waiting for?" Audrey asks. I look at her. "Go join your friends." she says. I walk towards them and wrap an arm around Mal. "Well, let's get the party started!" Jay says.
