Evie shakes Kara awake with a firm, "Five more minutes," Kara mumbles, her face buried deep in her pillow.
"No, Kara, you need to get up now. I've already let you sleep as long as possible," Evie insists, pulling the covers off with determination.
Kara groans and turns onto her side. "Please, Evie, just let me skip the first few classes."
"Kara!" Evie's frustration is evident as she throws the blankets off, exposing Kara to the cold morning air. "Get ready for school now!"
"Okay, okay," Kara replies, reluctantly getting out of bed and heading for the bathroom. As Kara showers and brushes her teeth, Evie pops her head into the bathroom, holding up Kara's dress for the day.
"I've got your dress here," Evie says, displaying the outfit with a hint of impatience.
Kara grimaces at the sight. "Do I really have to wear a dress today?"
"Yes, you do. Remember the press meeting later?" Mal's voice interrupts from the bathroom door. She peeks in, looking slightly annoyed. "I'll take that as a no."
"Sorry, Mal. I'll wear the dress," Kara says, resigned. Mal nods and steps out.
After getting dressed, Kara emerges from the bathroom to find the room empty, except for her packed school bag neatly placed on the table. She smiles appreciatively at Evie's thoughtfulness. Suddenly, the bell rings, and Kara exclaims, "Shit!"
Quickly, she slips on the heels Evie had set out for her and rushes to her nightstand. Grabbing the elastic band lying there, she slips it onto her wrist and grabs her bag. She dashes out of the dorm, closing the door behind her. As she runs, or as best as she can manage in heels, she pulls her wig into a messy bun to keep it out of her face. She barely makes it to class on time.
Entering the classroom, she notices everyone already seated at their desks. Her eyes scan the room until she spots Connor at their usual place. She smiles and heads over to him.
"Miss Kara," their teacher, Mrs. Johnson, calls out as she notices Kara's late arrival.
"I'm sorry I'm late, Mrs. Johnson," Kara says, making her way to Connor and taking a seat next to him.
"Hello, early bird," Connor greets with a teasing smile.
"Shut up," Kara retorts, nudging him playfully. Connor laughs, rubbing his shoulder.
"Ouch," he says, feigning injury.
"Don't be such a baby," Kara replies with a smirk.
"I'm not being a baby; you just shoved me really hard," Connor protests.
"Oh, can't little Connor who plays tourney handle a girl?" Kara teases.
Before Connor can respond, Mrs. Johnson interrupts. "Mister Connor, would you care to share with the class what you were about to say to Kara?"
"No, thank you, Mrs. Johnson," Connor replies quickly.
"That's what I thought," Mrs. Johnson says with a knowing look. Kara tries to suppress a laugh, and Connor leans closer, whispering, "I'll get back at you."
"Hmh, I'll be looking forward to it," Kara whispers back.
She turns her attention to the board, trying to focus on Mrs. Johnson's lecture, but the lack of sleep from the previous night weighs heavily on her. Unable to keep her eyes open, Kara rests her head on her hand and drifts off to sleep.
Kara, Jay, Evie, Carlos, and Mal stood around a cauldron, watching as the green liquid inside bubbled and emitted tendrils of smoke. With a wicked grin, Kara stirred the concoction and lifted a shiny red apple from the cauldron's depths. She let the apple drop back into the swirling potion and declared, "Let's give Auradon a taste of evil."
