When they arrived back at the dorm, Ben walked Kara to the door. "Thanks for the jacket," Kara said, handing it back to him.

"Yeah, no problem," Ben replied with a smile.

"I hope we can do this again," he said.

"Yeah, that would be nice," Kara agreed, returning his smile. They stood there awkwardly for a moment, both looking at the ground.

"Well, I'm going to go now," Kara said.

"Uhh, yeah, of course. I've got some business I need to take care of, too," Ben said.

"Bye," Kara said, placing her hand on the door handle.

"See you tomorrow," Ben said, starting to walk away.

Kara opened the door, but before she could close it, she was immediately bombarded with questions from Mal and Evie.

"How was it?" Mal asked.

"What did you guys do?" Evie followed up.

"Did you kiss?" they both asked eagerly.

"Guys, guys," Kara interrupted them. "At least give me some time to sit down," she said, trying to catch her breath from the whirlwind of questions. They rolled their eyes in unison, and Kara walked towards her bed. She sat down, leaning against the headboard, and Evie and Mal quickly joined her.

"So, what did you do?" Evie asked.

"He took me on a picnic," Kara replied.

"Wait, why is your hair a little wet?" Mal asked, noticing the damp strands.

"Well, the picnic was next to a lake, and Ben jumped in. When I couldn't find him, I went in to search for him," Kara explained.

"You jumped in even though you can't swim?" Mal asked, her eyes wide.

"That's so romantic," Evie said, her voice full of admiration.

"I'm sorry for ruining the dress," Kara said, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"Oh, don't worry about that. I'll just wash it, and it'll be fine," Evie assured her.

"What did you talk about?" Evie asked, shifting her focus back to the evening.

"Well, we mostly talked about him and his family, his royal responsibilities, and what he likes," Kara said.

"That sounds nice," Evie said.

"Did you have fun?" Mal asked.

"Yeah, I think I did," Kara replied, though her voice wavered slightly.

"You think?" Mal questioned.

"Yeah, I mean, I don't really know. Fun used to be tormenting people on the Isle, but I don't think that's what fun is here," Kara said. "Besides, I've never been on a date before."

"That's true," Evie agreed.

They all let out a collective sigh. "It is quite nice here, isn't it?" Evie said, her tone reflective.

"Yeah, I guess so," Mal said.

"What do you mean, 'you guess so'? You're totally into Connor," Kara said, turning to Mal with a teasing smile.

Mal's cheeks flushed with color. "I-I do not," she stammered.

Evie and Kara laughed. "It's okay, Mal," Evie said with a reassuring smile.

They then started talking about boys, enjoying their first girly moment together. Mal, who usually wasn't into that sort of thing, seemed to be opening up, perhaps influenced by Auradon and especially by Connor. Their conversation was filled with laughter and excitement.
