Chapter 208 - The Mysterious Island

Chapter Cover: Lucy seating alone on her desk with her novel open as a quill was in her hands and a smile upon her face.

Sting had taken us to a high vintage point somewhere outside of the city that Sabertooth was in and we were joined by Rogue as well as their Exceed, Frost and Lector. We could see over the forests and even had a sight toward the sea which expended endlessly over the horizon and we could even see an island that stood out in the distance and I could see foliage upon it's form as well as what looks like buildings that were upon it.

"Why did you bring us here Sting?" I asked glancing toward him.

He pointed out toward the island.

"That island," he said.

"What about it?" Natsu asked.

"Is it not where it supposed to be?"

"It shouldn't be at all," Sting told us, "Popped out of the ocean three days ago."

"Could it be from a volcano," Lucy asked, "Islands don't just appear."

"I considered that at first," Rogue said turning his gaze toward us, "But the problem is there is already had a forest upon it. This island came into existence with the full package."

"There was an earthquake a few days ago," Lector said, "Could have been caused by this island appearing."

"Fro thinks so to," Frost added.

"Can you sense anything Eve?" Erza asked me.

"No…nothing unusual," I answered her, "Although…I can't help but wonder if this island is connected to the strange things that have been happening lately."

"Strange things?" Sting asked, his eyes focusing upon me, "Like what?"

"Well, the girls at Mermaid Heel said that deep sea fishes had been washing up on the shore," I continued, "And, they were those stone tablets that Jura showed us, then…"

I trailed off, my eyes falling down toward Kemo-Kemo at our feet.

Could Kemo-Kemo be related to it…I thought, Lucy did mention a strange quake happening when they found the egg…and there is the fact that no one knows what he actually is and his strange accelerated growth…

"Lucy," Natsu asked suddenly, "Is that a building I see?"

"I think it might be," the blonde said.

"We received a message from the Magic Council…," Sting started to explain but a new familiar voice spoke out.

"In it, we asked you to survey the island,"

We turned toward it and found our speaker walking up the stairs from behind us. It was Lahar, followed by two of his men as well as the familiar sight of Simon standing beside him. What drew our attention however was Wendy as well as Carla who were with him.

"And do it together Fairy Tail and Sabertooth as one," Lahar continued.

"You came a long way to check if we got your mail," Natsu observed.

"About that," Wendy said, looking a little embarrassed, "They kind of rode with us."

"The Master sends us to check on you," Carla started to lecture, "Everywhere you've been mysterious stories of arson, vandalism and restrict terrorisms have followed."

"Mr. Lahar stops by the guild before we left," Wendy continued, "So we decided to come here together."

"If we are to form the first expedition," Erza said, "Then you need to tell us everything you know about this island. We don't plan on going in blindly."
