~ One Week Later ~
"I am going to miss you guys so much!" Ronald said, hugging me first and then Natasha. It was the day we were leaving, going back to New York, the tower, and the Avengers. Well, that was after a tour of Europe.
Yep, Nat and I were going an a tour around Europe for a month, and then heading home to Europe. Maria was coming with us too but only till we visit France, since that was where she lived.
"I'm going to miss you too, Ronnie!" I replied, giving him a sad smile. He nodded, and I swear I almost saw a tear slip out of his eye, but he turned away before I could confirm that it was true.
After Natasha and I finished our goodbyes, we stepped into the black mercedes that was awaiting us, and drove away. Europe here we come.We arrived first in our hotel what was in central London. We were staying in London for five days before travelling onto Amsterdam. We didn't get to do much sightseeing while we were on our mission, so we would be doing it now.
"I can't wait. This is going to be so much fun!" Maria squealed, dancing around the hotel room in her bath robe. She was getting first bath. I was last, coming in with a shower.
When I was finished, I dressed and suggested that we go to the bar below us and have some fun. The girls agreed, but on the condition that it was kept PC.
Laughing, I nodded and we headed downstairs. This was going to be fun.I groaned and held my head. It was throbbing and I felt sick. Last night I got totally smashed, even though I knew what the consequences would be in the morning.
Regret.
"Avallone?" Maria asked, close to my ear. "Ahh! I screamed, making my head hurt even more. Any sound seemed to vibrated in my head, and it hurt like a freaking sledgehammer.
"You were pretty smashed last night." Natasha commented quietly. Thank goodness she knew that it hurt when any noise was made. "Yeah, I guessed." I said.
Natasha laughed quietly and handed me some painkillers and a glass of water. I drank it slowly and only downed the pills when I finished the water. "Thanks." I mumbled, before getting out of bed. Damn, I was still dressed in that pink dress."Welcome to Scotland." The tourist giude said, smiling at us. He was quite handsome, so I smiled back. Even though my head was still hurting, I felt well enough to go out to Scotland. Yes, Scotland. It was exciting.
"Thanks. It's beautiful here." I commented. He nodded and gave me a wide smile. It was cute. He was almost fli - Oh hell no! I backed away slowly, still smiling.
"Took your time." Nat said, winking at me. Maria laughed, and we walked away from the guide. Poor guy. He was just being friendly to a tourist girl. It just happened that he was slightly overly friendly.
"Right, what shall we see first?" Maria asked excitedly. She was a European and yet she was more excited than I was to go sightseeing, in Europe.
"Uhhh. You lead the way." I said, unsure. She nodded, and we started off.I turned the page of the book I was reading. The Rules Of Survival by Nancy Werlin. It was a good book, and I found it quite captivating. I groped for my bourban and cola, and took a large sip.
"Gah, brain freeze." I muttered to myself. Nat and Maria were out getting dinner. Yeah, they were getting takeaways, but that was okay. We were holidaying, we could eat whatever we wanted.
Suddenly, I heard a knocking at me door, and then a big crash. I slipped the gun from under the mattress and gripped it tightly in my hand. Peering around the corner, I saw a man rummaging through the drawers, and I smiled to myself.
A few years ago, when I got bored, I learned how to throw my voice so it sounded like I was somewhere else in the room, which came in handy.
"What do you want?" I demanded, throwing my voice so it sounded like I was behind him. I surpressed a giggle as he whirled around, his left hand shaking.
"Leave now, or I will have to kill you." I said, stepping out from my hiding place, and poitning the gun straight at his temple. The thief shook with fear and held up his hands.
"I - Please don't kill me. I - I'll go, just don't kill me." he begged. I laughed this time and nodded, releasing the gun from his hand and watching him scramble to the door and fly out of it.
"A - Avallone, this place is a mess!" Natasha half-screamed when her and Maria entered the door. It was true. The attempted burglary wasn't cleaned up by me, instead I went back to readiny my book. It gave me a good chance to explain it to them.
Once I told them, they were laughing, and I felt like a hero. Smiling, I placed Maria where he was, and acted out the whole scene again. Maria was an excellent actress, but me on the other hand, I kept giggling.
There goes the dream for acting out the window.
"I wish I could've been here to beat up that guy!" Natasha said, clenching her fist. I laughed and picked up the phone. "Uhh, what are you doing?" Maria asked me, as I dialed a few numbers.
"Calling the lobby. We nearly just got robbed, what do you think I am going to do?" I questioned, qith a hint of bitterness. She frowned. "Didn't you do that before we came?" I shook my head and looked over at my book with a sheepish smile.
Natasha chuckled and shook her head in a disappoined manner. "Typical Avallone. Don't worry Maria, you won't have to bear it for much longer."
"Hey," I complained, scrunching up my nose. Natasha poked her tongue out at me in a childish way. "Hay is for horses." Maria commented, smirking as she collapsed on the bed. I laughed along with Nat and sat down on the floor.
"What now?" Nat asked. I held up my hand and told the lobby what happened and threatened to sue. They promised that our stay would be totally free, and anything we ordered would also be free.
"Sweet." I said, flipping through the movies that was on TV. "Ooh, that one!" Maria said, grabbing the remote and flipping back a few channels. The Book Thief. Good movie.
I settled into the back of the bed, ready to watch a good movie.
