"Bren, come in here. I have something for you. It's your mom's." I was about to start choking up. On the record player sat the picture disk of Alexa and my's wedding, the one with us singing Northern Downpour. I moved the needle for it to play.

We both started to cry. "Dad, Mom was really wonderful, wasn't she?" He leaned into my chest. Somehow I knew Alexa could see this and would be proud.

"Your Mom, my wife, was the most beautiful person I ever met. And my deepest regret is that you never got to know that. But she loves, and she loves me and neither of us can ever forget that."

I leaned down and kissed him on the cheek.

"You are a great kid, and your mom would be so proud of you. No matter how she died she didn't forget you." I handed my son a copy of her note. He broke down. But said.

"She's watching us Dad, and she loves us."
