I woke up after a rocky sleep. It was a very disruptive one. I couldn't properly settle. I had too much on my mind to sleep. Too much crowding my judgement.
I had woke up at 6:30am to get a quick shower and to get dressed. I hoped to see Jordan at breakfast early on her own. I really hoped she is by herself. As soon as it hit 7:00am I went downstairs. Just to my hoping, Jordan was sat at the table with her breakfast, by herself. I went and got some food before joining her.
"Fancy seeing you here."
Jordan looked up, with a big smile plastered on her face.
"What you doing up so early again? Not Beth's snoring again surely."
She said with a giggle, knowing this wasn't the reason."I thought we could carry on our conversation in peace, if that's okay."
"Course we can. Can I say what I was planning on saying?"
"Go ahead."
Jordan looked down at her food before continuing. I could tell she was nervous.
"You know how I said that I felt something when I heard yous two had kissed?"
I nodded before Jordan continued.
"I felt jealous."
I looked down at my feet, slightly embarrassed.
"I am sorry Jordan. I shouldn't have done it. I am so sorry I didn't mean-"
"I was jealous that Leah got the chance to kiss you, and that I've never had that chance."
I just looked into Jordans eyes. I've never seen her this vulnerable before. It was nice to see this side of her. I still needed to know more though.
"What do you mean Jordan? I had the impression after last night that you and Leah were back on close terms."
"I broke things off with her. I told her I wasn't feeling it anymore but there's more to it."
"Tell me more please."
Jordan looked up and smiled at me before saying the words I hoped she'd say.
"I like you. I couldn't stay with someone I didn't like and miss an opportunity with you. I couldn't do it to myself Abby."
"I like you too Jords. I'm really glad you said that."
Jordan pulled me into a tight hug. I could feel the fireworks spark inside of me, and I could tell the same was happening for her. This is what I needed after the hell Ive been through. She's the something special I need.
We sat chatting and smiling while we ate breakfast. People had started to come in but sat at the other tables. It was just me and Jordan. Neither of us noticed the others sit away from us. Until one person. Leah walked in and clocked eyes with both of us, giving us both a death stare. I could tell she was upset.
I quickly left and told Jordan I needed to shower, which was obviously a lie. I couldn't stay in the room with all this tension. We had training later which is more than enough tension for me.
I sat on my bed and talked to Beth until training started at 12:00pm. We talked outside to see a match setup. Sarina had pre picked the teams, with me and Leah on opposite teams. This made it worse. I did have Jordan, Ella and Millie on my team which brightened everything up.
The match was nearly done and we were 4-3 up. Beth had placed the ball down, ready to take the corner. The ball was pinged into the box, I had reached up high enough to get a head to it. Suddenly I feel a kick to my ankle, swiping my feet from underneath me. I landed on the floor, my bad ankle taking the impact. I just lay there. The pain felt worse than before. I looked up to see Leah laughing down at me.
"I told you to watch it."
I heard her whisper. That was it. That could be my career done. I heard voices around me, from medics, Ella, Jordan and Alessia. Everything was a blur. It went pitch black. This was it.
This was the second time Leah Williamson has ruined my life, my ankle and my dreams.
