"ACL. I've done my ACL, Abby. I know I have." She whispered, tears pouring from her cheeks.
Those three little words. ACL. I think it must be any players biggest worry. What made me the more upset was that Jordan knew straight away. It is so normalised in the game. When will we get more knowledge about it? God knows. For Jordan's sake, I wish she could know more.
Jordan was stretchered off the pitch. I walked beside her, seeing that Ella was going on for her. Jordan's run with injuries has never been good, but this has sealed her out a good while now.
"We have to win this for Jord." Beth shouted. I agreed. However Leah stayed quiet.
The match continued. The intensity on the pitch lifted, Ella, Beth and I had a connection that rattled the defence of any team. It was like we could read each others mind. Keira played the ball to Ella, who saw Beth running down the left wing. She pinged the ball into the box for me. The header rippled the back of the net. 3-0.
Half time came round and we were all over the moon with how it was going. A semi final of the Euros and to be 3-0 up? A literal dream.
"Don't let the score let you make easy mistakes. We all know how easy they can climb up the scoreboard. But we won't let them. Abby, Beth keep up that good work. They can't keep up with you two at the moment. Keira, you keep delivering them good passes, it'll make all the difference. Our defensive line, we don't let anything through. Not one ball." Sarina spoke clearly, with a sense of urgency. We did all know how easy they could get back into the game. But did we let them? Fuck no.
More determined than ever, we walked back out. Alessia was on for Ellen and that was the only change so far. The second half began, and I won't lie it was criminally slow. However, the game ended 5-0, with Alessia scoring a back heal goal. It was a good goal, but to do that in a semi final? She was mental!
We arrived back at the hotel once again, all of our bodies were tired but were we? No. We were running on adrenaline. Beth was in the shower, while I waiting for her to get out. My phone suddenly buzzed, making me jump slightly as I left the ringer on.

Are we still okay for tonight?Shit. I won't lie, I did forget about our movie night. I did feel guilty knowing that Jordan wasn't here anymore but why? We were just two friends watching a movie.

Yes, what time do you want me round for?Leah Williamson
In about 20 mins?Abby Toone
Okay, see you thenI was nervous. I didn't really know what to expect. I decided it was best to check up on Jordan before I left. It'll be weird her not at camp anymore. She was just a bright light that helped everyone else through.
'Hi Jordan, how are you keeping? Has there been any news back on the knee? Text me if you need anything x'
I shouted in to Beth, who was also still in the shower. I've seriously never seen anyone take longer showers. I don't know what she does in there.
"Beth? I'm going to Leah's for a bit" I screamed, hoping she heard me. I was right, and got a reciprocated scream back at me.
"Okay! No funny business now!" Beth said, laughing. I just laughed back at her.
I took my key card and left. I didn't really know what to wear seeing as it was only a movie night. I threw on a beige nike jumper and black rubbed leggings. The absolute height of comfort.
POV Leah:
I was expecting her to knock soon. I can't remember a time I was this nervous. This could be the start of something. I did feel guilty that Jordan was gone from camp only a few hours and we were already alone, but it wasn't our fault, was it? I was taken out of my thoughts by a knock at the door.
"Hi Lee." The door opened to this perfect human. She was wearing something so simple, yet she made it look so beautiful. I was speechless for a few seconds, and I knew Abby could read this. She started giggling.
"Can I come in?" She said, an innocent smile appearing on her lips. I was brought out of my gaze, "Of course." I said, stepping aside.
To my surprise she went and sat on my bed, I though she would've been more distant than that. "So what do you want to watch?" She started taking her shoes off, making herself comfy on the bed.
"I was thinking maybe Grown Ups? If that's okay with you, it's just a classic." She could tell I was nervous. I mean, how could I not be?
POV Abby:
She didn't know Grown Ups was my favourite movie. How could she?
"It's actually my comfort movie, so yes it's a great pick." A smile gradually creeped onto Leah's face. She looked gorgeous tonight, more so than usual. Leah lay on the bed beside me, not knowing what to do with her hands. I didn't know either, they just rested on me.
The movie had only just started, but I could feel myself getting more tired by the second. Leah realised this too and moved towards me more. I lay my head on her chest, with one arm snaking around her waist. I had a massive smile plastered on my face, but I didn't want her to see this. Leah's hand rested on my head, playing with my hair.
The movie flew by, a bit too quickly for my liking. We laughed together so much. It just felt.. right. I was meant to be here right now. Leah had moved slightly, making me look up at her. We held eye contact for a bit too long. Her head started to lower towards me. I know I shouldn't lean in too but all I could think was,
' Fuck It.'
