Chapter - 17

Third person's POV

The day has finally arrived when Amber will go to work for the first time. Today is her first day of office. Two days passed in a blur and she only encountered him during breakfast in these days.

Amber was nervous yet excited for her first day. She got ready for the day in a suitable outfit and did some light makeup. Then, she went downstair where the entire Smith family was situated and having their breakfast.

She doesn't like to live alone in her apartment, so she rarely goes there and lives with the Smith family in their mansion. The family do not mind and actually persuades her to stay with them.

"Good morning everyone" Amber wished them all and sat in the chair next to Luke.

"Good morning" everyone replies.

"So Amber, are you excited for your first day of work? " Grandma asked giving her a warm smile.

"Yes and no. I actually don't know. You see, I am excited as i really wanted to work and all but you know your grandson, how he treats me so i am a little nervous, i guess, to work under him. " she said and start eating her breakfast.

"Don't worry, my brother loves you a lot, so even if you make any mistakes, he will not say anything to you. " Cole says while stuffing his face with a toast.

"He will kill me the second he gets a chance so that he can marry his girlfriend. " she scoffs at his words and whispers to herself but luke, who was sitting next to her and heard and smiled at her silly thoughts.

"He is telling the truth. Austin will never harm you in any way, he loves you a lot." Luke said to her in a low voice so that only she can hear and she made a wierd face on his words.

"Amber, my child, I already warned Austin about his behavior but he will not go easy on you. For your betterment" grandpa said politely to Amber.

"I also don't want to take advantage of knowing you all. Even before knowing you all, i wanted to work in thus company and then aftar gaining experience, i wanted to build my own empire without depending on others. So i don't him to do any kind of favours on me just for the sake of our relationship. I want to do everything on my own. " Amber said with determination.

"That's my sister. Now let's go, I will drop you for your first day to the office. " Luke said to Amber and started dragging her after she collected the toasts from her plate to eat on the way.

"Easy Luke, let her eat first" grandma shouted from behind.

"You will get your ass beaten, Luke." grandpa warned Luke, who stopped on the door immediately after hearing his grandpa.

"It's okay. I'm an expert in eating like this. Don't worry." Amber shouted back and dragged Luke with her who was grinning widely thinking how he finally found a person who can save him from both devils.
