Once again I was sitting in the big white chair facing another disciplinary investigation. Apparently doing good is actually doing wrong.
"So, why did you feel it was appropriate to...and I quote 'punch the shit out of him'. Are you aware that your actions were a disgrace and inappropriate? Do you repent?"Facing a panel of 6 members of His holy clergy, I shrugged.
"Sir...I felt it was appropriate because he was sexually assaulting a woman in the street...I do indeed feel that my actions were appropriate..."
Archangel Michael shook his head and lowered it, as did Gabriel.
"I do not believe that man should have the free will to implement trauma and hurt on another person. A woman should not be bound to her captor or be made subservient..."
Cut off, Gabriel stood up and slammed his hand on the desk in front of them and leaned forward.
"That did not give you the right to beat a man with a chair on an assignment that did not require physical involvement..."
I stood up and also slammed my hands on my desk.
"He was beating her! You are encouraging mass genocides, condoning eugenics, Religious crusades, denying basic human rights...I could go on!"
"Silence!!"
His almighty voice rang out across the space, I did not tremble, I did not quake or weep in fear.
"Are you shunning the holy kingdom? Damning the rites and favouring heresy?"
I looked up at the individual before me, guarded by Archangel Michael's sword.
"I am not. I am standing my ground and doing what is expected of those assigned to guard and protect. Guard and protect. I dont see the problem..."I was forced back into my chair with a strong gust that was enough to make a building tremble.
"You need to be reassigned. You need to be corrected and learn your place in our holy kingdom..."
I rolled my eyes knowing it was going to be another round of civil duty and licking ass.
"...I conclude as punishment, you will have your wings clipped and sent below. Until you reform...you will not return. You have caused too many issues..."Wings...clipped.
No. No they can't!"Your Holiness...you can't. Please! I'll change!"
With a clap of thunder a searing, burning pain shot through my body. Doubling over and falling to the floor, it was like every single one of my nerve endings was being set on fire. I could feel my wings catching aflame and the smell of burning hair and flesh filled the room as I screamed out in agony.
"You claim to be all loving and forgiving as you watch me suffer!!" Screaming out with fury as resentment filled my very soul, I cursed them.
I cursed them to hell.Hell...which was exactly where I was going. Admittedly I thought I was being sent to the humans to live as a mortal until I died or repented for my sins.
Alas, I was wrong.Falling through space and time for what felt like 30 minutes, at least they were graceful enough to soften the landing...
I lay writhing in pain and agony for far too long. Curled up in a foetal position, I couldn't help but weep...weep for humanity, weep for those with resounding faith in the father almighty and defenders of the faith who let the innocent suffer.
