Another Devil Slayer,

I never thought that I would have run into another one of them. Ever since Nova died, I had believed that I would have been the last one to exist in Fiore but then again, that was a bit conceded of me to think like that. But why would this Devil Slayer be here in this Village? What is the reason they had frozen over this village completely?

"A Devil Slayer?" Erza repeated, approaching where I was standing.

"Type of magic to slay Demons," I answered, "My mother was one when she was alive…and since she left her magic for me, when I when through the Changeling, it had become my power."

I turned my gaze toward the frozen Giants that were around us. A Devil Slayer came here and froze this entire village…but why?

"I can't understand why the Devil Slayer froze the entire Village," I continued crossing my arms.

"You don't think you can melt it?" Erza asked.

I shook my head.

"Whoever done this is way more powerful than I am," I answered her, "I would need to be at the same level or beyond them to be able to do anything to that ice."

Erza stayed silent as well as she was observing the surroundings. The redhead glanced up toward the giants as we were walking silently through the large houses and frozen giants that were all around us. The odd purple glow of the ice was everywhere around us and I had both of my hands crossed as I was observing them.

"Eve…look around and tell me what you see," Erza said.

I gave her a confused look, "You figured something out?"

"These Giants…look at how they are positioned," the redhead continued, "Don't you notice something about them?"

I looked at the enormous forms that were towering above us. I frowned lightly to myself as I took in the few that I could see. They were in mid-yell from the look of it, with pieces of armors upon their bodies and one of them had a staff while the other had a sword…I turned another glance toward the next Giant, noticing that he was also wearing armor and…

"They look like they're gearing up for a fight," I told the redhead.

"Yes," Erza answered, "If this Devil Slayer that you spoke of had come to their village…an alarm must have been sent throughout to warn everyone of the incoming threat, although, we still don't know why this attack took place? Why this entire village was frozen?"

I let out a soft hum as I stared up toward the Giant nearest of me. He was carrying a hammer from the look of it and he had his had raised and pointing at a direction over us. Whatever he was pointing at was probably long gone thought but whatever it was, it drew his attention the moment he was frozen.

"A battleground," Erza said, "For what reason would someone attack this village?"

I gave her a glance.

"The Flame perhaps?"

The redhead looked around herself again.

"No…the alarm wasn't sent because of the intruder," she said, "It was sent to everyone so that they could protect the Flame itself…but how to find it?"

"If you're protecting something…where would you place yourself," I said.

A light appeared in Erza's eyes.

"You'll place it behind you and face the threat head-on," she said, looking at the Giants, "Look at them…they are all facing the same direction meaning, where the intruder is…that would mean, the Eternal Flame…is in the opposite direction."
