I stared in horror as Seungjun and Jaeyoung put our mattresses together to make one big bed. I wasn't against the idea of sleeping all together, quite the opposite, I was just pretty startled it all happened so quickly. But in all honestly, there was nothing we had to wait for.
After the little initial shock, I was more than happy to go to sleep. The excitement from the confession started to die down a bit. I'm not saying I wasn't on that odd feeling of high anymore, but I simply felt a bit calmer. Truly at peace. I felt as if I could sleep like a baby, knowing I'll be safe between the arms of my boyfriends... It's so odd to call them such, but I guessed I would have gotten used to it.After this realization, I felt oddly tired all of a sudden. It was almost 4 am in the end, and I planned to get up early in the morning to make breakfast for Seungjun since he works the morning shift on Wednesdays. Fortunately, he'd be back in time for lunch, and since it was both Jaeyoung's and my day off, we could have gone somewhere, or done some research on how to create a new key for the portal to New World together.
I got into my mattress, the middle one, without hesitation. I was ready to crash at any moment... But I decided to wait a bit. Jaeyoung and Seungjun took turns going to the bathroom before getting into their respective mattresses.
Jaeyoung exited the bathroom before letting Seungjun in. He walked over to his mattress and got in, covering himself immediately. It wasn't a warm night at all, and the lack of any heat source in our little apartment definitely didn't help with the issue. I was covered up all the way to my chin, laying on my back as I usually do. I turned my head to the side to glance at Jaeyoung. He was laying on the side, facing me, his sheets covering all of him up to his nose. All I could see were his eyes and his hair. He always liked original haircuts, and the short, black and partially green hair he had at that moment was no exception. It fit him so well, it literally screamed "Jaeyoung". I loved its quirkiness and uniqueness.
After focusing on his hair a bit, I moved my gaze down, and met his eyes. Those black eyes of his... it's really hard to describe them. They're tough but soft, captivating but innocent, dark but lit up by dozens of little sparkles, all at the same time. The very first time my eyes met his, a chill ran down my spine. They looked oddly scary and cold. Jaeyoung as a whole gave me the impression of being an intimidating guy. It didn't take me a long time to discover his true nature. Under that tough exterior, I found one of the sweetest people I've ever met. A man always ready to help those in trouble, always ready to comfort you when you're feeling down, always ready to listen to you. A man who always gives his all in everything he does, passionate about so many things and extremely talented in even more. He sounds almost too good of a guy to even exist, but there he was, just a dozen of centimeters away from me, linking his eyes with mine. His expression shifts when he sees something he likes, something he... loves. It becomes so much softer, so much more affectionate. At that moment, as we looked into each other's eyes, his definitely changed into those sweet eyes I love so much.
I was suddenly brought back to reality by a soft hand gently grabbing my right arm. Activating my fight-or-flight response, I flung my arm upwards, only to immediately turn my head around and realize Seungjun was the one grabbing it. I was so lost in Jaeyoung's eyes I didn't even notice Seungjun coming out of the bathroom and laying down next to me. I wanted to apologize for retreating my arm so violently, but before I was able to piece together a sensical phrase, Seungjun spoke. "I'm sorry Yuto. I should have asked you first." A little frown showed on his face. His big puppy eyes looked so apologetic. He had nothing to be sorry for. I was the one who had to apologize. "It's my fault Seungjun, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to move my arm so violently... Of course you can grab it... You don't have to ask... You just caught me a bit off guard, that's all."
Seungjun's frown quickly turned upside down. He really had nothing to apologize for, but the sweetness and the delicate manner he approached the situation with made me really happy. No matter how small and insignificant they might seem, all boundaries must be discussed in my opinion. It's very important to address them, in any type of human relationship, so that every person involved can feel as comfortable as possible.Suddenly, Seungjun lifted his arm up and delicately put it across my chest, resting his small hand on my left shoulder. His other hand was under the sheets, looking for mine. When he finally found it, our fingers naturally interlocked. He started gently stroking my hand with his short, soft fingers. "Is this okay?" he asked quietly. "Mmh." I simply answered, satisfied. His embrace made me feel comfortably warm. The cold wasn't a problem anymore.
I heard a dissatisfied groan coming from the other side of the "bed". "Hey Seungjunie, you can't take him all for you... I wanted to cuddle him too..." Jaeyoung's low voice with a note of exaggerated sadness reverberated through the small room. "Sorry Jaeyoungie, first come first serve," Seungjun answered, before letting out a little, adorably mischievous laugh.
What had I gotten myself into? I let out a laugh, highly amused by the situation. I have to admit, being that wanted for cuddles made me feel pretty good. It was adorable how the two were close to having a friendly fight to decide who would fall asleep hugging me.
Jaeyoung's low voice blessed our ears again. "Well, I could always... Uhm... Grab your waist... If you're okay with it..." he said, his voice getting quieter as he spoke. I didn't even have to look at him to know he was extremely embarrassed. But I did it anyways, because the red tint on his cheeks was truly a sight to behold. Deep down, I was hoping he'd ask me something like this. Even though the thought hadn't explicitly materialized itself in my mind, something clicked when Jaeyoung asked me the question.
I nodded. "Thank you Yuto, you're the best," Jaeyoung answered, his voice still way too quiet. I felt his hand slowly slide on my belly before it ultimately stopped when reaching the side of my waist opposite to him. Then, unexpectedly, I could see his face leaning in closer to mine with the corner of my eye, before feeling a soft peck on my cheek. At that moment, the problem of feeling cold was replaced by the opposite one. For a second my body felt almost too warm, but soon enough my temperature regulated itself to an optimal one. Before ever realizing it, my eyes closed themselves as I peacefully fell asleep in the embrace of the two people I care the most about in the whole world.
