The drive to his trailer was only about 15 minutes from school.  His driving was slightly chaotic as he blasted Metallica as loud as his blown-out speakers could handle.   They didn't speak much on that ride to his place, which was okay.  Chrissy actually found herself trying to hide her smiles as she watched him drum his hands on the steering wheel perfectly in-sync to the beat of the song's drums.  Soon enough, he pulled into the lot #20 in Forest Hills Trailer Park.  He turned off the ignition and got out of his van meeting Chrissy in the front.  She had never been to this side of town before.  A far cry from her posh upbringing in the suburbs.

"This is uhh..." He paused.  "My castle?"  He trotted up the steps, unlocked the door and held it open.  She made her way inside as Eddie followed.

Eddie immediately started grabbing trash that was cluttered on the counters and began rummaging through shelves and drawers looking for small tin box that where he hid the ketamine.  "Sorry for the mess... Um..the maid took the week off" He said sarcastically.

Chrissy nervously looked around the living room.  There was so many trinkets, coffee mugs and baseball caps.  A hundred different things to look at.    "You uh... you leave here alone?"  She wondered out loud.

"With my Uncle." Still going through a drawer.  "But uh.. He works nights at the plant.  Bringing home the big bucks." The last part had a sarcastic sound to it.

"How long does it take?" Chrissy said quietly looking to Eddie.

"Sorry?" He could barely hear her.

Chrissy was clearly nervous.  "The Special K.  How long does it take to kick in?"

"Oh! Um.. Well, it depends if you snort it or not.  If you do, then...uhh yeah.." He looked up at her.  "It'll kick in pretty quick." He opened another small box only to find it empty. "Ohh shit."

"You sure you have it?"  Chrissy asked.

"No, no, I got it." He closed the drawer, stood up and looked around. "Somewhere." He walked down the hallway into his bedroom. It was that moment when he realized was a disaster his room was.  Oh god, he thought to himself as he suddenly saw his room from a popular cheerleader's perspective.  If he even had the tiniest inkling that Chrissy fucking Cunningham would be in his room today, he would have skipped first period and tidied up.  Then again, if he has skipped first period, he may never had been passed that note.

Chrissy anxiously paced around the living room.  The longer she waited, the more she wanted to just chicken out and leave.  Despite going to parties fairly often, she never gave into the pressure of drugs.  Not that Eddie was pressuring her now.  She came to him.  She sought this out.

Eddie scrambled through his room making even more of a mess as he emptied boxes, and drawers desperately looking for that damn tin box.  He kneeled in front of his bedside table and opened the front door.  He shuffled through papers and magazines until he finally found what he had been looking for.  "Gotcha" His eyes lit up.

"Found it."  He said smiling.  "Peaceful bliss just moments away" He cheerfully walked back through the hall to where Chrissy was in the living room.  She was biting her nails and avoiding eye contact.  "Hey Chrissy?" he examined her.  "You alright?"

She didn't meet his eyes. "Mhmm, fine." She hummed quickly through a fake smile.  "So how do I do this?"

He starred at her.  He sensed something was up.  "Hey uh.. You know if you don't want to do this, just let me know.  I can take you home if you want-"

"I want to do this." She cut him off yet still avoiding eye contact.  "Sorry.." she spoke barely above a whisper. Her fingers nervously played with the gold '86' that delicately hung around her neck.  A gift her parents got her when she turned 18.

Awkward.  They were both quiet for several seconds before he sat on the couch.  He took the vial out of the tin box and poured out a tiny amount of powder onto the coffee table in front of him.  He unhooked his wallet from the chain attached to his belt loop and opened it up.  He pulled out a dollar bill and started rolling it into a tube shape.  Chrissy watched his every move.  He looked up at her and patted the spot beside him on the couch.  She slowly made her way over and joined him.

"So you're just going to hold this end to your nostril, plug your other one with your opposite free finger, and snort.  Fast."  He handed her the rolled dollar.  She swallowed hard and nodded.  As she slowly went to take the dollar from Eddie's fingers, he noticed how much her hand was trembling. He recoiled his hand and tossed the bill on the table.  "You know what.." He paused and drew his hand to the inside pocket of his jacket.  "How about we just have this instead."  He pulled out a joint and lighter.  "I really think this all you need to take the edge off."

Chrissy's shoulders relaxed and she quietly breathed a sigh of relief.  She wasn't as ready for the 'stronger stuff' as she thought.  She smiled sweetly.  "Okay"

Eddie felt more comfortable too.  Almost immediately the tension in the air was lifted.  He smiled as he flicked his lighter a few times until it produced a flame.  He drew the joint to his lips and inhaled sharply as the tip burned.  He closed his eyes as he held it in his lungs for a few seconds before smoothly exhaling a big cloud of grey smoke. Chrissy watched with intent. Why did he make it look so cool?  He passed her the joint.  "This you've done before, right?"

Chrissy carefully took the joint from his fingers.  "Um, well no, not exactly." Eddie raised his eyebrows slightly surprised.  "-But I want to.  Really." She said confidently.

He couldn't help but stare.  Chrissy Cunningham sitting next to him.  On HIS couch, in HIS home about to share HIS joint.  Never in a million years did he think he would find himself in this situation.  He shook the disbelief from his head whilst trying to hide his smile.  "Okay, well, just do as I did.  Joint.  Lips. (those soft pink lips) Inhale.  Breathe Deep." He instructed.  "Oh, and it's okay if you cough.  Everyone always coughs the first time."

She nodded and brought the dart to her lips.  She inhaled slowly and held the hot air in her lungs for as long as she could (one second) before nearly choking and coughing loudly.  Smoke coming out of her mouth as she waved it away from her face with her hand.  Definitely not as cool as Eddie had looked when he did it.  She laughed at herself in between coughs.  Eddie smiled and took the joint from her hands.  She was so cute when she laughed.  "Not bad, Cunningham" he took another smooth hit.  He sunk into the couch and passed the blunt back to her.   She tried again.  This time a bit slower.  She closed her eyes when she inhaled.  Are you fucking kidding me?   Her exhale was more relaxed and she only had to clear her throat once.  "Thata' girl" Eddie beamed.
