Laurie's POV
I fixed my hair into a messy bun, and tossed on a pair of acid wash shorts and a grey tank that read "Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty, Little Ball Of Fur. Happy Kitty, Sleepy Kitty, Purr Purr Purr ;3" and slipped on my navy blue Toms. It was a casual, but decent outfit. Luckily I had half of my closet here at the shop! I practically lived here, since I worked from 12:00 to whenever my last client leaves.
I paced around the room impatiently, and checked my phone every 5 seconds. God what was happening to me? Maybe I was starting to warm up to Tony...? I don't know...
I stared at my phone and the clock read 7:12. It seemed to stay 7:12 for at least an hour, until the chime of the bell hanging above the door snapped me out of my trance.
"Hey! How's my favorite kitten?" Tony half-yelled across the room.
"Great! And my favorite turtle?"
"I'm doing fine, hun! And uh, there's something you should know... The guys kind of follo-"
"Oh my god Laurie! Is that you?! Is that really you? Where the fuck have you been?!?!" An all-too-familiar voice rang inside my head, and I stood in shock.
"Tony! You promised!" Well shit. Why did I even trust Tony? Did he just lead me on so the guys could find me and take me back? That's why you never trust anyone Laurie. Especially yourself.
"I know I know! But when I almost got here, I noticed them following me! They thought I had a date with a hot chick, so I guess they tagged along..."
I turned back to see a red face. It wasn't red because of embarassment, nor shyness, nor anxiety. It was a deep, resentful red that was composed only of anger for Tony.
"Tony you faggot! You knew that she was here?! And you didn't tell us?!?! What the fuck man? How long has this been going on?!"
"Relax Jaime. H-he was my first client yesterday, and t-that was the only time I s-saw him..." I tried to sound calm, cool, and collected, but my voice was in a complete contrast to that... God Laurie you must be an idiot.
"Laurie, you can't just disappear out of nowhere with no reason... It doesn't work like that alright? Vic misses you. I miss you... We all miss you." Jaime was more calm now, and he spoke with the utmost concern and care for me.
I turned away from him. I was afraid I would cry. Just the sound of his name brought countless memories. Beautiful, life-changing memories that my brain would never let go of. I felt his arms slip around my waist, but I made no effort to hug him back.
"Vic and Mike are out with their parents. I think you guys need to make up." Oh lord. Jaime, it doesn't work like that. What whould happen if he saw me... Oh right. He doesn't care. I'm not the one who cheated.
"Jaime, there isn't anything to make up for. You don't even know the whole story..."
"Yeah Jaime, it's pretty bad. I don't blame her for being upset." Tony's voice faded to a whisper.
"Well then fill me in! It's been what, 1 or 2 days and I've already missed a lifetime?"
------------
15 Minutes Later
Jaime's POV
Laurie was sitting in Tony's lap, whimpering and crying. I was still stuck in shock... I mean, Vic had cheated on Laurie, and he didn't even try to explain to his closest friends.
"Its okay Laurie, shh..." I heard Tony whisper into Laurie's ear. They would make such a cute couple! Laurie was the perfect height for Tony, and man, she was real pretty. If Tony didn't already have her, I'd be all over her!
"I know, I know, I can't help it..." It's not the easiest thing to tell your ex's best friend about how he cheated on her."
"Yeah, I understand. Thanks for letting me know. So would you guys want to get a drink? You know, since it's like a family reunion?"
"Gah Jaime you always gotta ruin the moment!" Tony yelled and chuckled.
"Well hey, what's the point of being all sulky and sad when you can get hammered and dance with hot girls?! And hot GUYS in Laurie's situation." Jaime was still the same old player and I loved hanging out with the guys.
"That actually sounds nice. I haven't had any fun in a while." I managed to choke out.
"Alright, its a done deal! We'll, go to that bar I went to a couple nights ago! Man.. I love that waitress there. She is the pure definition of hot." Jaime started to laugh surprisingly loud, and I don't understand what was so funny. "You too Laurie!"
"Yeah.. Hehe... Yeah, you are totally hot." Tony smirked and started to choke on his laughs along with Jaime.
"What?! Is this some inside joke I don't know about?!" I felt my cheeks turn red at the fact.
"Here hun, check yourself in the mirror, and then meet us outside!" They rushed out of the shop, leaving me embarassed and clueless at the same time. And what were they talking about anyways? Oh right! Mirror. I need a mirror.
I stepped up and saw a hideous monster in my reflection. Oh god Laurie. That's another mental slap for you. I forgot I even had makeup on, and I was crying my face out! Jesus.
I fixed my makeup, or tried to repair it at least, and changed into a tight deep purple Bodycon dress, with silver stilettos, and headed out to meet Tony and Jaime.
Again, thank god I had 80% of my closet here.
