Wow, it's been a really long time since I've updated. As said in the previous author's note, I sort of fell out of love with this story and lost inspiration to write it. Yesterday, I accidentally clicked on my wattpad app on my iPad and I honestly forgot that I even published on here. I decided to read my story, and I was shocked when I saw how many reads there were. I got back on track with the plot, and the good news is, I've decided to continue this story. Thank you for staying with me and reading even though I left; it means a lot to me. Happy reading. (:

Laurie's POV

I wriggled around in the chair.

My wrists itched and my arms were sore.

I felt the cold material of my phone against my chest.

My phone. My phone. My phone.

One single call would get me out of this hellhole.

I once again squirmed around, trying to free my arms, but it was no use. Was Roland a master knotter or something? This is insane.

Deep breaths Laurie, deep breaths. Don't panic or you'll freak out again. I scooted my chair around, but then I realized something.

Was this basement empty? All I had felt around me were walls. There wasn't any furniture here for me to use to cut out of this rope.

Damn it, Roland.

"I'd shove a tree up your ass if I was given the chance. I'd take revenge on you, and you'd definitely feel it."

Wait, tree. Wood. Chair. Wooden chair. That was it. It would be loud, but it'd be my only chance. I scooted my chair closer to the stark white wall. I would knock off all 4 legs of the chair so I'd be closer to the ground, and then I'd cut or stab my way out of the rope with the broken pieces of wood.

This was it.

BANG

The first leg was off and I immediately felt a rush of heat to my brain.

BANG

My hands and legs were shaking. It was working; only two more to go.

BANG

Only one more left to go, then you're free Laurie.

BANG

I fell to the floor with a cold, hard thud. I almost cried out of the feeling of accomplishment. I would call Tony and get out of here. I reached for a piece of wood.

A low chuckle emerged from the darkness. I froze with the piece of wood behind me.

"You're pathetic, aren't you Laurie. All these years and you come crawling back to me." He continued laughing.

"You kidnapped me." I snapped back, but immediately regretted it. I was terrified of that man. I did not want anything to do with him, let alone be near him.

"You came into my cab." His laughing sounded like a weird gurgle; like he was going to choke.

I wish he'd choke.

"Do you still remember that day? The day when I met you and took your precious innocence?" I cringed. "Because I do, and I enjoyed every moment of that day."

I fumbled the piece of wood around in my hands so that they were positioned to lacerate the rope.

"I loved the empty, dull look in your eyes. It fascinated me how easily you were broken, but I'm even more so now that I see you're alive and well."

I began moving the sharp wood back and forth across the rope, and I could feel it breaking.

"There was always that certain stubbornness about you. You never gave up on anything no matter what happened, and I love that about you." Those words sounded disgusting when he said them.

The rope was almost completely cut through.

"I've tried on other girls, but they were no fun at all. They were either having fun or they'd do something drastic the next day, like kill themselves. Thats's what I liked about you though, Laurie. You were just more.. durable than other girls."

I felt nauseated, yet thrilled when the rope broke through. I kept my hands in the same position and carefully placed the wood on the floor.

He sauntered towards me in an agressive manner and pressed me hard up against the wall. I yelped, but I didn't really feel anything.

"I just couldn't get enough of that look in your eyes. I thought I'd killed you, but you were just so broken and shocked. That's why I came here to find you; because no matter how many times I force myself onto you, you're still going to be that same old Laurie that will struggle, and struggle, and struggle to glue back the broken pieces. But you're like glass; you're never going to be perfect again, no matter how many times you try to stop me. I'll never forget that I was the one to shatter you, and each time you think you have all the pieces together and presentable, I'll shatter you once again."

I'll shatter you once again.

I'll shatter you once again.

I'll shatter you once again.

Those words fondled with my brain and scraped around it.

No pain, no remorse, no regret, no joy, no feelings.

"That's why you're never going to leave this place. If you try and escape, I'll find you, kill you, and drag your lifeless body into the Hudson, so don't you even think about it." He whispered with excited, quivering lips and a vulgar tone.

I collapsed.
