I woke up this morning with a bit of extra excitement. Dances have never been my thing, but if Robin's going to be by my side the whole time, then bring it. Finn and Gwen had woken up a bit before me and were eating breakfast. I wasn't hungry just yet, so I decided to skip eating and go home to get my stuff. Like I said, Gwen wants to help me get ready and I'm all for it.

"I'm going to get my dress and some make up. I'll be back in a bit."

"Alright. Be safe!"

The siblings smiled at how in sync they were. I laughed lightly and grabbed my converse from the living room. Quickly slipping them on, I remembered we actually had school today. Well shit. I sprinted out the front door and made my way to my house. I didn't live that far from the Blake's, so it shouldn't be that long of a run.

I blew through the door, scaring the daylights out of my mother. "What in the world— Valerie!"  I didn't have time to stop and have a conversation, so I shouted an explanation as I packed a bag. I carefully folded the dress and placed it at the top of the bag. "Bye mom! Love you!"

I ran as fast as I could back to the Blake's house, sweat dripping from my forehead. I wiped it away with the back of my hand and adjusted the bag strap around my shoulder. Gwen was standing with the door open, pretending to check her invisible watch. "You're making us late, Val." She had a fake annoyed tone in her voice, to which I laughed at.

I put my bag in Gwen's room and grabbed a shirt and some shorts from my overnight bag. I changed super quick and brushed my hair a bit. I brushed my teeth a bit too fast and made part of my gums bleed. I chugged some water and me and the Blake siblings started our walk to school.

"You guys excited for the dance?" Gwen was always quick to start conversation.

"Yeah. You know you can go too, right? Just buy a ticket to the game and sneak in to the dance."

"Jeez, Finn. Since when were you into breaking the rules?" I asked.

"I don't know. But what I do know is that I want my sister at my first homecoming dance. And if that means breaking her in, then so be it."

I nodded my head at his response and we continued talking about what we would do at the dance.

School was boring, per usual. Everybody seemed overly happy today, which makes sense. But some couples were too excited and I got to witness it. So did my locker. Julie and her suck-ass boyfriend decided to make out against my locker. Julie most definitely initiated for it to be there out of spite for me. I honestly don't get why she bothers having a boyfriend when she obviously wants Robin. I mean, even Liam, Julie's boyfriend, can see it.

Gwen and I were in the bathroom doing my makeup when Finn shouted that Robin was also coming over. We shared a worried look and began to apply the mascara faster. "Ow! You poked my eye!" Gwen was freaking out now, like, even more than me. "I'm sorry!"

"It's fine. Just start on your makeup."

"I'm not wearing makeup. I'm all natural." Gwen used her hands to outline her face, making us laugh. I finished applying the mascara to my other eyelashes and we went to Gwen's room. "You ready?" Gwen hadn't seen my dress yet since I wanted it to be a surprise. "Yes! Show me!"

I pulled out my folded dress and the green immediately caught the girl's eye. "Oh my god.. it's so pretty!"

"I haven't even unfolded it yet, Gwenny!" I laughed at her a began to unfold the dress. I held it up by the sleeves for her to get a better look. The expression on her face said it all. She was mesmerized.

(It took me so long to find a decent dress 😭) (change it if you'd like!)

"Robin's here!" We turned our heads to the door and saw Finn in the doorway. "Woah.. you're dress is gorgeous." I laughed at his facial expression and complimented his suit. He looked very formal. "Get out! We need to change." Finn through his hands up in defense and shut the door as he walked away.

Gwen's dress was a light blue shade with fake jewel embellishments around the edges.

(You can make up an image in your head bc I ain't searching for a dress like this)

She didn't do anything fancy with her hair, besides the hair clip that matched the jewels. I hadn't done anything special either. No hair clip for me.

Once we had changed, we walked out the living room and saw Finn and Robin sitting on the floor. "Hey Finn, whatcha doin?" The sound of my voice made Robin's head turn immediately. He let out a gasp and Finn chuckled. "We're just watching some rubbish tv. You guys ready to go?" Me and Gwen looked at each and nodded. "As ready as we'll ever be."

I'm sad that this book has one more chapter left. I won't lie, Im glad it's basically done because forcing myself to write is not fun, but I'm going to miss building Valerie's character. She's come so far in the past few months. 😭😭
Anyway, hope y'all are safe and happy.
