Chapter 15. Light Seekers

"Hey, are you guys up?" Alphonse questioned, as quietly as his deep voice could go.
Nobody answered, everyone was asleep. Idyllic was leaning on his shoulder and was drooling on him. He grimaced and pushed her off and wiped the drool off of his arm with his bare hand.
"Disgusting."
"Just like your face."
"Who said that...?"
He squinted his eyes and soon the light from the morning sky revealed Arden.
"Ugh, it's just you."
"Morning, Mr Estecaille."
"Morning fuck-face."
"You're in a good mood today." Arden cackled, sarcastically.
"I know. And if you're not careful, you'll ruin it."
"Shh! The others are sleeping."
"Yeah, yeah."
"You hungry?"
"Mhm, a lil."
"Pfft, I know when you say that you're obviously hungry, come, let me make you something!" Arden huffed, dragging Alphonse to the kitchen.
He sat on the counter, next to where Arden was making his breakfast and he saw a box of cigarettes and reached over to them, only for Arden's hand and his hand to be on top of each other. Alphonse breathed and intertwined hands, he hissed and smirked at Arden.

A loud yell from an unknown room ruined their moment, Alphonse pushed Arden away and cried, "WHO'S YELLING AT THIS TIME OF THE DAY?"
"Me...", a small voice muttered.
Alphonse paused and took a second to realise that it was actually Karsyn who yelled. He knocked on the door and went inside, on the bed, was Euphoria who was dead asleep. Every movement, every noise didn't bother him or wake him up. Karsyn, on the other hand, was curled up in a ball, with the necklace around his neck and a circle of purple crystals and shards around him. He was startled by this and he put his hand out to Alphonse to not reach out to him.
"Karsyn, duuuddee...what's gotten into you?"
"I don't know! I just..."
"No time for explaining, let's do something about this."
"O-Okay!"
"What triggered this first of all?"
"How am I supposed to know?! I just woke up and felt angry for some reason..."
"Oh."
"Hm?
"That might be why all of this has happened." Alphonse waved his hand around in a circular motion to the purple crystals.
"Uh...okay, wait-"
"Think of something that makes you angry, Karsyn. Think of...the devil himself..."
"The devil?"
"Romero."
Tiny crystals formed on Karsyn's forearm, he took a breath and tried to calm himself down with the help of Alphonse and it worked. He sat down by Karsyn's side, not too far from where Euphoria was asleep, and his eyebrows raised.
"I wonder why all of that happened? I'm pretty sure that Wanderer didn't say anything about being angry triggers your necklace."
"Yeah."
"Well, now that all of that has been sorted, I just remembered...I'm pretty sure Wanderer told me that they were going to give me something different to do today."
"Oh yeah..."
"I think I'm going to get ready now."

Karsyn headed to the bathroom, his face was pale and he had bags under his eyes. He dusted off the crystal residue off of his forearms and splashed cold water onto his face. He sighed and took off the necklace, he stared into the mirror and his face was tense. Out of the ordinary, he forgot to take the book with him so he quickly rushed to the room where he had gone to see if Euphoria was still awake and collected the book.
He tip-toed, trying not to wake Euphoria up and saw the book laying on the carpet floor, he took hold of it and ran out of the room, leaving the door wide open. Locking himself in the bathroom, he opened the book, put on the Wanderer's necklace and drawled:

"Hey. You told me that you were going to give me something different to do today..."

It took some time for Wanderer to respond, but before they did, Karsyn was staring into the mirror, noticing that the necklace flickered before he got a response. His eyes twinkled as he was glaring at the necklace and got his hopes up, only for one page to flick.
