Brody
It's been nearly two weeks since she left.
I can't stop thinking about her beautiful face, or her smile that would light up any room, or her intoxicating vanilla body lotion she uses.
I remember her.
Scarlett Jones.
The quiet, shy, beautiful girl that was Charlotte's best friend. I saw her even if no one else did.
We both left for college and when my mother passed, I came back here to look after my father until he passed last year.
I had a feeling when Charlotte and Justin announced their engagement that Scarlett would come back, but I never expected the beautiful woman that was infront of me that night of the party.
She is twenty two now, her hair is slightly shorter than before but she is still the same beautiful girl I always saw her as.
Grabbing my paint brush, I glide it onto the wall. I have fully renovated my parents house to basically my dream home. It has three very spacious bedrooms, two of which have ensuite bathrooms, a family bathroom with a giant tub that has a view overlooking the beach, a large kitchen/diner, with an island I installed, and a living area that I'm undecided on what to do with yet. The kitchen has huge bifolding doors that lead into the garden which backs onto the beach. There is a double driveway and garage beside the house and there are lots of plants and flowers everywhere.
My mother loved gardening and I hope to make her proud with this garden I have created, as if it were for her.
With it being a the weekend now, I have time to focus on my own house. I mainly book jobs in for the week and take Colby with me as I have no one to watch him and I don't feel right leaving him alone all day.
Speaking of the devil, I can hear him barking relentlessly in the garden at something.
"Hey buddy, come on." I head outside to see him with both front paws on the bench, his head over the bushes barking down at the beach.
"Colby. Come here."
He turns his head back to look at me, his tail wagging at speed.
"What has you so excited huh?" I glance over him and squint down at the beach.
It can't be? No way.
Colby barks again. He knows too.
"Alright. You wanna go say hello?" He barks loudly as I laugh and release the lock on the gate. Colby sprints down into the sand while I go back inside to lock up.
After jogging down the length of the beach to catch up with Colby, I finally see him getting plenty of attention from the one person that has been stuck on my mind for the last two weeks.
The closer I get I see a huge smile on her face, looking at Colby with such adoration. My heart nearly explodes at the sight.
I take a deep breath in, her scented body lotion hitting my nostrils making my skin tingle. Breathing out I tilt my cap up slightly so she can see my face more.
"Hey."
Her sweet voice calming my body. The way she felt in my arms that night when we were dancing is something I will never forget. The way our bodies moved in sync, the feeling I had when I was about to kiss her.
I clear my throat before she thinks I'm ignoring her.
"Hi Scar, what are you doing here?"
I know she went back to London the day after the engagement party, but I just assumed she would only come back the for the wedding.
