Scarlett
Waking up in Brody's huge, comfortable bed is incredible.
Colby is spread out on at the bottom, he definitely knew he was here to look after me tonight, almost like he knew that Brody wasn't here so he stepped up.
Well, I think that's the case anyway.
I lift my head up from the pillow and notice the sun coming up. I really want to take Colby for a walk before Brody gets back and then cook us breakfast.
"Let's go for a walk Colby." I tell him as he raises his head to me.
Jumping out of bed I quickly get dressed, pulling on a navy hoodie of Brody's, over my vest top and shorts. Colby barks at me before running downstairs.
I run down after him and pick up my Chucks. I see Colby sat with his lead in his mouth near the door.
"Well done." I pat his head.
Tying my laces I grab Colby's lead from him. He doesn't even need a lead because he is so well trained, but I know Brody always takes it with him just incase.
Locking the door behind me we head down to the beach. It's a beautiful day out and I'm hoping we can spend the rest of the day outside today. Maybe I'll prepare breakfast on the table outside again, I think Brody liked that before.
After walking along the beach I decide to cut up into the town to grab a quick coffee.
Ann catches my attention with her waving as she heads directly for me. Luckily another customer pulls her aside and I swiftly place my order and leave with coffee in tow. I don't want her telling me things again.
Colby walks closely by my side all the way back to Brody's. I give him a pat here and there when he looks in my direction. By the time we reach the house my coffee cup is empty and I guarantee Colby is ready for some food.
"Goob job Colby. Your the best." I snuggle into him as I hear footsteps behind me.
He's home early, I didn't even prepare breakfast yet.
"What the hell Scarlett!"
My brows furrow as I turn around, not missing the angry tone to his voice.
"Sorry?"
"Do you know how fucking worried I've been?"
His fingers roughly push through his hair as he starts pacing up and down the kitchen.
"I just took Colby for a walk?" I stand watching Brody.
"And where were you last night? I tried to call you."
"Why are you angry?"
I'm so confused. I stayed in his house, I took care of Colby and I was coming home to cook us breakfast for when he got back.
What's happening here?
"Scarlett, I haven't heard from you since I left yesterday. I raced home this morning in worry that something had happened and I find your phone just laying around!"
I can feel my chest tightening at his harsh, angry words.
"I went to bed early so I could get up and walk Colby before you got back and-" I can't even finish my sentence as his turns his back on me and walks out into the garden.
I just stand there, Colby sitting next to me looking just as confused as I am.
Moving to the doorway I try and speak again but the words get stuck in my throat as tears prick the corner of my eyes.
