Brody
Waking up to the slight sunrise peeking in through the window I take in my surroundings.
My neck is stiff and my arm has gone dead. Why don't I remember going to bed last night?
Shit.
That's because I didn't.
Glancing down at the beautiful girl laid asleep in my arms I can't help the smile that covers my lips.
This cosy corner definitely lives up to it's name. We must have been barely an hour into the movie before we fell asleep, all cuddled up with the five blankets I put on here. Scar is still wearing my flannel shirt that honestly, looks better on her than it does on me.
I see that Colby has perched himself on the sofa near to us. The butterflies in my stomach start going crazy. This is the feeling I've been dreaming about, this is everything I've ever wanted, around me right now.
Scarlett stirs in my arms, snuggling herself into my body before fluttering her lashes to open her eyes.
"Morning beautiful." My voice comes out way deeper in the morning and has a slight rasp to it. I place a kiss on her forehead as I see realization hits her of where she is.
Her lips part slightly as she gasps, trying to sit up out of my hold.
"Would you like a coffee?" I already know the answer to that, knowing Scar is a coffee addict.
She nods wearily at me, pulling one of the blankets up to her chin.
I hop off the chair, waking Colby in the process who immediately sees an opening next to Scar and jumps straight into it.
I quickly make two coffees and head back into the living room. I still at the doorway to watch the scene infront of me.
Scar, in my shirt, whispering in Colby's ear, one hand stroking his fur while the other is pulling the blanket over both of them.
This girl is something else. I knew my feelings were strong but I didn't realize just how strong until I thought something had happened to her yesterday.
The beach was the first place I checked, knowing we had met there before and she told me she loves it. Next was the coffee shop, then the library. I was quickly running out of places. It wasn't until I took Colby for a walk later that day that he went sprinting off up the other end of the beach and that is where we found her.
To say I was relieved is an understatement. I never thought I could feel like this with someone so quickly.
Making my way back over to the chair, I perch myself on the end while handing Scarlett her mug.
"Thank you." She smiles at me. "Sorry about falling asleep, I must have been really tired-"
"Hey, you don't need to apologize." I reach out for her hand. "I had a great sleep." I match the smile on her face as she blushes and looks down at her mug.
"So, what's the plan now your here?"
"Well, I was going to see Char and Justin today and get them to tell me anything they need help with while I'm here."
"I'm sure they'll really appreciate the help. So does that mean you may have some days free?" I smirk in her direction as she nods.
"Of course."
"That means we can have another date?"
I lean closer, our lips almost touching but not quite.
"I think that can be arranged."
