Scarlett

The drive home was long and I was trying to process my day with Brody.

Our kiss was breath taking. The way he makes me feel is truly amazing.

Pulling into my car parking space I hear my phone vibrating from my bag. I hit the accept button and pause.

"YOU KISSED BRODY!"

"Hi Char, I made it home okay thanks for asking." Rolling my eyes at my best friend.

"Yeah yeah that's great, can we go back to the bit where Justin saw you guys making out!"

"We kissed yes." I chuckle, my fingertips automatically coming to my lips again at the thought of Brody and I kissing.

"And?!"

"And it was amazing."

"Ahhh, I'm so excited for you guys. Justin said you looked happy. Are you happy Scar?"

"Yeah, I guess I am. I mean we only shared a kiss, we have a lot to talk about when I'm back there."

I just hope he feels this too. I would love to hang out with him while I'm in Whitedale. And I've really become attached to Colby too.

But I can't get ahead of myself. I live in the city and will be returning after the summer. I know Brody knows that but I'm unsure of what will happen with us, if anything more does happen.

"Well I'm happy you're happy, and I will see you in two weeks okay?"

"See you soon Char."

Entering my apartment I find it empty, my roommates have probably gone out for dinner.

I head towards the kitchen in hunt for some food when I hear my phone vibrate in my back pocket.

My heart stops when I see Brody's name on the screen.

"Hello?"

"Hey Scar, did you make it home okay?"

Shit. I said I would text him when I got back.

"Yeah I got back around an hour ago. Charlotte ended up calling me as I pulled up and we ended up chatting for a while."

"No, no that's okay. I'm just glad you got back okay."

I smile at him checking in on me.

"So, did Charlotte grill you about me? I'm assuming Justin told her about what he saw." A deep chuckle comes from him as I laugh with him.

"Yeah, she definitely knows."

We carry on talking well into the night. I ended up making a sandwich as I didn't have the energy to cook. Brody tells me about some jobs he has on this week and how he is making a start on his living room next weekend. He really liked my idea of a cosy corner next to the fireplace, and keeping the wooden beams exposed as a coastal vibe.

By the time midnight comes around we decide to hang up and plan to talk in the week.

I like how easy chatting to Brody is. He wants to know what I like and how I feel and asks so many questions that sometimes I don't really know how to answer.

It's like he is trying to get to know me on a deeper level, a deeper connection. It excites me and I can't wait to talk to him again.

~

This past week has dragged like a bitch. We have had lots of files to sort and bookings to slot in that I've been non stop most days. I briefly spoke to Charlotte a few nights ago and me and Brody have just been mainly texting most days.
