Brody
I'm going crazy.
Scarlett called me at 3am and I was asleep so obviously missed her call. It's now midday and I've called her at least ten times and sent her so many texts and she is yet to reply.
I decide to call Charlotte to see if she has heard anything.
"Hey Char, you spoke to Scarlett today?"
"No, but it looks like she had a great night out last night from the picture she sent me." She laughs as my brows furrow.
"Hang on, I'll send it you now."
I look down at my screen and see a selfie of Scar with two girls and a guy. She looks so happy.
"I'll give her another call, thanks Charlotte."
Placing the phone to my ear while pacing around my kitchen, I freeze in my tracks when I hear a voice answer that isn't Scarlett's.
"Hello?"
"Hey." The guy's voice responds. My heart is hammering in my chest right now. Is this the guy from the picture?
"Where is Scarlett?"
"Oh yeah, let me get her. I think she might be in the bathroom."
My eyes go wide as I hear this random guy's voice shouting my girlfriend.
I hear groans in the background as I hear Scarlett grab the phone.
"Hi." Her voice raspy and thick.
"Hey Scarlett. Where are you?"
"In my bathroom."
At least she is in her own apartment, where I know she is safe.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, one too many shots last night." She groans down the phone.
"Switch to video?"
"Brody, no. I look awful and-"
"Please baby, I want to see you."
"Maybe later."
"Who's there with you?" I hate myself for asking that, but I need to know.
"Oh, that was Joe. He and Chloe slept on my sofa last night."
My body relaxes instantly. Not that I don't trust Scarlett, but when people drink, their common sense goes out the window. I should know, I saw my own father in that state.
"Is everything okay?"
"Yeah, you just called me at 3am and when I tried to call you this morning you never picked up so-"
"Shit. Brody, I'm so sorry!"
"It's fine, as long as you're alright."
"I am. Promise. Thank you for checking in on me, I love you."
"I love you too Scar."
Hanging up the phone I run my fingers through my hair. I miss her so fucking much. It's great she is meeting new people and going out enjoying herself but I already get the feeling I was dreading having. The less time she spends here in Whitedale, the less time she spends with me and that will push us apart. I can't let that happen.
I need her in my life.

The following week Scar is busy with her friends but promises to come to mine the weekend after. But I'm not waiting that long.
