Brody
This week has been hard. Amazing, but hard.
Scarlett's last week in Whitedale.
I knew it would come eventually, but I'm not ready for her to go. I've loved our time together and I know it's unusual for couples who just started dating to spend so much time together in the first few months, but that's what has made us great.
That's what made me fall in love with her.
I'm dreading tomorrow where she drives back to London and the unknown of when I'll see her again, when she will be in my home again, when she will take Colby for a walk on the beach again. Too many uncertainties for my liking.
"What about this one?"
Scar opens the curtain again and spins in the dress she is wearing, then places her hands on her hips while raising her brows at me.
We are currently in Hawthorne, the little town I wanted to bring her to when I came here for Justin's night out before the wedding.
We are here to find her one for the gala she has to attend next week, it's a little boutique we found. She is currently trying on dress number three.
Something else I feel uncertain about.
She expressed her dislike towards these galas, plus the fact her ex will be there and she is going to confront him about them being over. It's a lot for her to deal with alone. I offered to be her plus one and go with her, but she doesn't have one. Apparently the numbers have already been approved so no more guests.
"I'm not sure baby, I don't feel like the colour is the best"
She sighs, looking down at herself in the knee length maroon gown.
I stand from the little chair I'm perched on, taking her hands in mine.
"You have two more to try, we will find you something don't worry." I kiss her forehead as she gives me a small smile and steps back into the dressing room, closing the curtain behind her.
I return back to the chair and let my eyes scan the racks of dresses beside me, hoping something might jump out at me so Scar has some more options to try.
"I'm not coming out! This one is too revealing!" I hear Scarlett's voice shout from behind the curtain.
I laugh, shaking my head. "Alright, try the last one."
I patiently wait for Scar to step out from behind the curtain. Movement causes my gaze to rise from the ground up as I watch her step towards me silently. I don't know why I didn't think of telling her to try this one first, of course this is the one.
A beautiful baby blue floor length dress sweeps against her slim legs, the fabric gathered in at her waist and the high neckline shows off her shoulders perfectly.
I gulp as Scarlett rises her brows, waiting for my opinion. Words get stuck in my throat at how stunning she looks right now.
"Scar, you look beautiful." Standing from the chair, I can't help but cast my eyes down her body once more.
I can't believe I didn't realize it sooner.
My navy flannel shirt and hoodie that she seems to have stolen to wear, her cobalt blue dress she wore for Charlotte and Justin's engagement party, the powder blue little dress she wore last week when she came to mime, and her midnight blue maid of honour dress. I know that probably wasn't her pick but, my girl definitely has a thing for blue, whether she realizes it or not.
"I like this one." She smiles at me, her hands skimming the dress down her sides.
"Hm, I bet you do." I chuckle.
