Scarlett
It's been four days since I came back to London and I haven't been myself.
The drive back here on Wednesday night with Brody was emotional. I tried my hardest not to be upset so he wouldn't feel bad for leaving me but I couldn't help it. I love him so much, of course I'm going to be sad when we are apart.
And as for my trip to his this weekend, well I had to cancel due to getting my period. I suffer from the worst cramps and there's no way I could drive with them.
Brody of course understood, but I'm annoyed at mother nature's bad timing. I'll just have to wait until next week to see my boyfriend now.
After spending the full day yesterday in bed, I'm thankful that I have work today to take my mind off things, and so I can get some fresh air.
Wearing a navy knee length dress, a long grey coat and ankle boots, my hair in loose curls that frame my face and some nude lipstick and with a little mascara. Surprisingly, I feel good.
Walking into the building, my boot heels clicking on the marble floor. I see Linda at my desk, looking like she is waiting for me.
"Ahh, good morning Scarlett. I hope your feeling better."
"Yes, much better. Thank you."
"Alright, so I need to see you in my office if that's okay?"
"Oh uh-"
She starts walking off to the lift as I follow her. I haven't even had a coffee yet, I hope this isn't bad news.
As we walk into her office, she gestures for me to sit on her white small sofa. Her office is very modern, all white with accents of the company colour, red.
She sits at the glass table desk, clasping her hands together, her gaze set on me.
"So, I know you've had some time to think about the position and I want you to know we think you would be a great fit. The role would be along side the role you are doing now until Michelle leaves so-"
"Wait-" I hold my hand up as I interrupt. "Sorry, Michelle is leaving?"
"Yes dear, she has just moved in with her new boyfriend and she announced she was leaving last week."
I shake my head, this is news to me. Last I heard Michelle was happily single and she has been working here for over three years. I wonder why all of a sudden she is leaving.
"So, if your happy with it, I can send you some extra tasks that will assist me and then once Michelle leaves in a few weeks we will transition you over to the job officially. That will give them time to fill your position too."
"Yes, okay. Thank you."
I leave Linda's office and head straight for my morning coffee. I wanted to speak to this with Brody before I agreed, but with eveything that happened last week I completely forgot.
Maybe I can give him a quick call and tell him on my lunch. I hope this will work in my favour and get me off the front desk. The pay increase will also be helpful. Maybe I can afford to rent a new place alone. I mean, my roommates are nice and they aren't ever home really, always staying out at their boyfriend's places.
The day comes to an end and I call Brody on the way to my car, however he never picks up. I send him a text to let him know I'm finishing work and when he gets home for him to give me a call.
After eating a quick meal and showering, I get into bed, snuggling myself into the sheets. I suddenly hear my phone ringing beside me.
"Hey."
