DONTRELL POV.-

It's been 6 months since Brittney and I started dating. She's been less clingy as time goes by and it makes me feel better about the health of our relationship. But sometimes  I wonder if it's for a bad reason. Like she's slowly getting over me? Or just realizing that she doesn't love me but just loved what I did for her? Either way, she's been less talkative, she doesn't even ask to come over or if I should come over. I have to initiate it. I decided to talk to her about tonight after I'm done with work.

I walk to the witness on the stand. "Mr. Robinson, you said that you saw the Mr. Jackson murdering your boss?", I asked.

"Yes", said Mr. Robinson.

"And what time was that?", I asked.

"Around 11pm", said Mr. Robinson.

"And why didn't you call the police when you saw that this had taken place", I asked.

"I was in shock, I too terrified to do anything but run", said Mr. Robinson.

"So how to you example the evidence that I have showing that you were not there at the time of Mrs. Jackson's death?", I asked.

"I um- um"

"Objection, your honor. I believe he is trying to coerce the witness into saying something that isnt truth due to fake evidence", said the other lawyer.

"Fake? I have the evidence right here. May I your honor?", I asked.

"You may", said the judge.

I walk to get a document showing when Mr. Robinson clocked out and I also got a recording showing that Mr. Robinson was out at a bar.

I grave the documentation to the judge and the other lawyer and I played the video on the tv screen.

"The documentation shows the time that Mr. Robinson clocked out. That was well before 11pm. This video here shows Mr. Robinson at a local bar and if you look at the time on the time stamp it is 11:00pm", I said. "So...sounds like someone else has coerce the witness into saying a statement that is false", I said as I went back to my sit. "No further questions, thank you"

I sit down.

After the court ended, my client was found not guilty.

"Thank you so much for helping me out", said Mr. Jackson. "At least we got all of this over with so we can really find out who murdered my wife."

"Well I hope y'all will be able to figure that out and thank you for your business", I said.

"No. thank you", said Mr. Jackson.

Mr. Jackson leaves and after I get my things together I walk toward the door. The judge begins calling the next case and I hear a familiar voice.

"How's my wife?"

I look back and I see Carter being brought into the room the guards.

I make a face.

"What? She ain't tell you? I'm getting out today after I win this appeal", said Carter. "Come on. I know she told you. I leave her voicemails everyday."

I shake my head and walk out of the court room before I did something I'd regret. He realized that maybe that's why Brittney had been so stand offish.

I call her phone but she didn't answer, so I just proceeded to head to her house.

BRITTNEY POV.

These past few months I have felt hopeless and hearing that Carter is getting out has made things much worst. Not only that but I've been thinking about Grayson and I miss him so much.
