Minseok pauses on setting the plate down the table as he gets a strange feeling from the surroundings. "Dae," he mutters, looking out the window.

Jongdae hums and raises his gaze, taking the dish himself and putting it aside. "What is it?"

"Something's wrong," Minseok remarks, turning to the direction of the front door and furrowing his eyebrows. "I think I should check it."

"Lu Han hyung is here," Jongdae points out, taking his phone out and typing. "Another alpha can take care of it, hyung. You promised me we'll eat together this time..."

To: PO Sehunnie

Minseok is crazy. He's been looking around like an unstable cat for minutes now when he literally just got home. I cooked for us and waited like a good omega but he hasn't even touched it yet, much less touch ME. This is unacceptable.

Minseok breathes out, turning his head to Jongdae. "I-I'm the leader alpha though..." he trails off. "It'll just," Minseok looks down at the table, "take a few minutes."

"But I'm hungry," Jongdae mutters, and he's pouting when Minseok shifts his glance back to him. "I waited for you to get home because you promised me~" Jongdae whines, pushing the plate aside. "Okay then. I won't eat until you come back."

Minseok sits down on his heels and takes Jongdae's wrist with a sigh. "You shouldn't starve yourself," Minseok says, squeezing Jongdae's hand.

"You already promised I'll have your time this meal," Jongdae replies, looking at Minseok with a disappointed gaze. "You shouldn't have promised," he snarls and yanks his hand away, pulling his food to himself and preparing his chopsticks. "Leave."

Minseok breathes out through his mouth, rising to his feet as he nods, looking away. "I'll come back quick. I'll just check it."

"Right," Jongdae mutters, pursing his lips before digging into the food he made himself. "I shouldn't have cooked for you. All wasted efforts."

Minseok swallows Jongdae's words in remorse and turns to head out their house.

Jongdae pokes his chopsticks into the beef and chews on his lips as he waits for Sehun's response to his last text, tapping his feet on the tiles as he stares at the indicator that Sehun is typing.

I'll be there, hyung. We can eat together.

Jongdae straightens up on his seat and smiles.

He must've taken long because he asked permission from that Lu Han.

To: PO Sehunnie

Thank you! I thought you'd say no to my invitation because of some annoying alpha.

Jongdae stares at his screen for several seconds before deciding to continue eating.

Such a waste. He cooked so that his alpha can come home and finally eat with him but look what he did.

That special case beta who can't even help the main leader must really be that important to the pack.

Jongdae scoffs, biting down on meat with mildly sharpened fangs.
