yesterday was my last day of spring break, so I had to wake up bright and early to go to school. I doubt kian will be there since most likely he has a killer hangover. poor kid. he never knows when to stop drinking.
school was extremely lackluster. I only had a few classes with connor and jc. andrea was only in my science class and kian wasn't in any. homeroom was a total snoozefest, mostly because my history teacher talks like he's at a funeral. it literally puts me to sleep. the next four classes were just average. finally lunch came and went, no kian. afterschool, no kian. jc was my ride so I asked him to drop me off at kian's house to see how he was. I approached his front door and banged loudly assuming that he was still asleep.
"kian , open the door."
"oh. it's just you." he said, rolling his eyes.
"you look horrible. how long have you stayed inside?" I asked.
"probably like a week. I ran out of alcohol a few days ago, unfortunately." he sighed.
"you need to get out of the house. cmon. I'll take you out. where do you wanna go?"
"let's just go somewhere. just keep driving until we find a place. okay?" he replied. I was slightly taken aback by his eagerness to join me.
"let's do it. I'll pick you up at 7." I said, walking away.
I don't want to get into this again. I feel responsible for the past few weeks. I've been with jack so much lately that I've been ignoring kian when he needs me most. jack misses me a whole lot. he lives an hour away so we can only hangout on the weekends. we have a date on saturday that I'm really looking forward to. my phone buzzed, and I saw it was a text from jack.

he always sends me little texts during the day, half of which I ignore for many hours. I feel bad, doing this to jack. I know I don't really love him. he deserves more. I love kian, I always have. I just like jack.
it was already 7. I put on jeans and a flannel and drove to kian's house.
"hey kian. you ready to go?" I asked.
"always." he said, grabbing my hand.

we just drove, for about two hours.
"when do you want me to stop somewhere?" we were near New York City, a place I don't visit often.
"just keep driving, it's not very far." he said.
he seems to have an exact place in mind for us.
"there. right there!" he was pointing to the Empire State Building.
"I wanna go there. I heard you can see everything from the rooftop." he said.
"okay, okay. let's go."
-
we had to climb about 100 flights of stairs to get to the top. my legs were killing me. but the view, oh the view. it was incredible. you could see all of New York City from here.
damn, this reminded me so much of the ferris wheel with jack. but this was better.
I never really noticed how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful city like New York. kian was just sitting there, admiring the view. he looked like art.
"hate to be a downer but...why'd you bring me here?" I was extremely curious. does this place mean something to him?
"I come here to get away from things. sometimes I would just keep driving until i found a spot that I fell in love with. this is the spot." he said quietly.
"does it really help you? to forget about things?" I asked.
"yes. it always has. something about the view, it just takes my mind off of things."
he stood up suddenly and grabbed my hand.
"cmon," he said. "i'm gonna give you the best night of your life."
