A pandemic is sweeping the globe; thousands of people are falling ill to COVID-19-- most commonly referred to as the coronavirus, which originated in China. The location of Patient Zero, the first to obtain the illness, has resulted in numerous cases of xenophobia towards Asians. It does not matter if they are even Chinese or have been to China. Nevertheless, no one should be harmed due to things out of their control.

(Y/N) softly brushes her daughter's hair. She smiles at the little girl through the mirror, and receives an adorable giggle in response. Usually, she would be getting her daughter ready for school, but all of the schools had shut down to encourage social distancing. Most non-essential businesses had closed down too, including her own job. Stuck at home, she continues her routine to find a little piece of normalcy to distract her from her situational depression.
"Hey, are you okay?" (Y/N) glances up through the mirror to find her husband Levi leaning against the doorway. He too had ended up not being able to attend work. She smiles wistfully. He approached her, grabbing the brush from her delicate fingers.
"Go relax. I'll take care of the rest." (Y/N) nods numbly before stumbling off to their shared room. She cursed herself for allowing her mind to wander. Getting (D/N) ready for the day was supposed to distract her, but it ended up becoming a mindless task. She sighed before sinking into the cold touch of her mattress. A few moments later the space beside her dipped and an arm encases her frame.
"Tch, you need to be more careful, idiot. Imagine if I hadn't stepped in."
"You did though." He narrows his eyes at the back of her head. She squirmed underneath his heavy gaze despite not seeing his countenance.
"What if something were to happen to me? You need to learn to deal with your absentmindedness by yourself." (Y/N) tightly grips his hand that wrapped around her stomach. She knew he was right; he always was.
Before the pandemic, she had been doing so well. Levi had helped her deal with her mental issues, and she had been progressing so positively. She had a plethora of errands to run outside and motherly duties to keep her busy. Unfortunately, when the outbreak's death toll began to rise, the couple took it upon themselves to self quarantine. Being young, (Y/N)'s chances of getting detrimentally affected by the virus were very slim. However, with Levi being a few years her senior, his chances would be much higher if she accidently transferred it to him. That was less than ideal, so they only went outside to purchase essential items for the house and their family. Outside, Levi would constantly accompany (Y/N) due to the rapidly rising hate crime cases. He didn't know what he would do if she were harmed by some racist asshole. Even if she wasn't specially targeted for xenophobia against her own ethnicity, she would at least be recognized as Mrs. Ackerman.
That last name held a lot of weight in the public eye, for Levi had made a name for himself in the line of work he did. No one would dare mess with him. More over, he knew anyone dumb enough to mess with him indirectly would be taken out silently, but he didn't tell his wife that. This excuse gave him a reason to enjoy her company 24/7.
"Levi?"
"What is it, brat?" He wrinkles his nose. (Y/N) turned around in his arms to look him in the eyes.
"Thank you for being there for me." He frowns.
"You don't need to thank me. I'd be a shitty husband if I didn't." She smiled. To outsiders his demeanor and "lack of affection" might be alarming, but after being with him for so many years, she knew just how much he loved her.
