26- I kinda like you

Aaron's P.O.V.

Now Miguel really pissed me the hell off.
Making me choose between my daughter and the woman I've fallen in love with.

I must say though, this kid has a pair of balls on him to threaten me like he has.

Silas was laughing as we went into my den. "So, when did you and the sexy Detective finally hook up?"

I turned around and shoved him back. He fell hard into the wall, making a few of my things fall off the shelf. "I'm in absolutely no mood for you to talk right now." I said through clenched teeth.

A few men helped Silas up off the floor, "Jesus. It is serious between you guys, isn't it?"

I didn't say anything.

"Isn't it?" He snapped.

"YES! So I can't take a chance at Miguel getting his hands on either one of them."

Silas' look softened. "We know and they won't touch either one of them." There was a pause before Si smiled again, "But seriously, you hooked up with her at the charity event... didn't you?"

My brother was by far one of the most annoying people I've ever met. "Get the fuck away from me."

"Is that a yes or a no? I need an answer."

"Why?"

"I may or may not have a bet going with some of the guys..." Si started laughing again as he ran behind a few of the guys, trying to get away from me.

"Was it you two?" I pointed at Beck and Zac.

They were both smiling but shook their heads as they answered. "No sir."

"They didn't say a word." Si confirmed.

"Can we get back to our actual fucking problem now?"

"Sure." Si swirled a toothpick around in his mouth as he sat down, still looking smug.

"Aaron," I looked over at Derek. "Sofia's my responsibility now. You don't need to worry about her. I'll keep her safe."

I liked this kid. I'm really glad I didn't kill him the night I met him. "I know you will, Derek. I think it's best if everyone stays here though. If we all stay together, we'll be stronger as a group."

Derek leaned in. "Agreed. So let's come up with a plan and take these fuckers out."

After our meeting, we all went our separate ways in the house. I went back to the kitchen but the girls were already gone. I reached in my pocket, remembering my phone vibrated during the meeting.

Sofia- I showed Thea to your room. Have a good night. Love you.

Smiling, I put my phone back in my pocket and headed for my bedroom.

Opening the door quietly, just in case she was already sleeping, I saw the bathroom light was on. I closed the door and walked over, knocking softly.

"Thea?"

"You can come in."

I slowly opened the door. She was wearing just a towel, her hair was wet and she was sitting on the bench.

"I hope you don't mind that I showered."

"No. Of course I don't. Are you alright?"

"Yes."

I knelt down in front of her. "Babe, what's wrong?"

She gave me a sad smile, "If something happens and you have to make a choice, I just want you to know I understand why you'd choose Sofia. I won't be mad, you need to choose her, Aaron."
