39- The End

Thea's P.O.V.

It's been two weeks since my kidnapping. Captain gave me off because my body physically needed to rest after this case so I've been sleeping a lot.

I've hardly seen Aaron during this time. He was helping clean up the mess at the mine and getting everything set for our honeymoon. He's yet to tell me where we were going, all he said was it was on the coastline somewhere.

Walking back into the station, I was greeted by everyone. Maggie was fired and awaiting her sentencing for her part in all of this. She pleaded guilty so the rest was simple, she would be serving prison time and never be able to work for the police force again.

Once I got to Ethan, he wrapped his arms around my waist. "I'm so glad you're okay, Thea."

I held him close for a moment, before we let go again. "Thank you. How's it been here without me?"

"A mess. I've had to look into a few cases Maggie and I worked on while you were working with Gray to make sure Maggie didn't mess with their cases. Everything seems in order, looks like she only tampered with the Miguel stuff."

"Well luckily we don't need to worry about that... anyways, I better go talk to Briggs."

I walked into Brigg's office and he instantly smiled. "You look better."

"I feel better, thank you."

"Are you sure you're ready to get back to this?"

I looked down and shook my head. I took out my gun and clip, laid it down on Caps desk and set my badge next to it. "I'm sorry, I can't do this job anymore."

He stood up and came around the desk, leaning up against it and folded his arms in front of his chest. "Are you sure this is what you want?"

I started smiling as I nodded "Yeah. I do."

He let out a sigh, "I'm going to miss you, kid."

I wiped the tear from my eye. "I wanted to thank you for everything Cap and for believing in me."

He wrapped his arms around me for a few moments and kissed the top of my head before he backed away. "I'm not going to see you again, am I?"

I opened the door and looked back at him, "I'll be around." I gave him one last smile before walking out of his office, saying goodbye to Ethan and straight out of the station.

Oliver, my new bodyguard helped me into the car. "Are you ready Mrs. Hale?"

"Yes, but please call me Thea."

"Boss gave me strict orders on how to address you Ma'am."

"I'll be talking to him about that. You will address me at Thea. Understand?"

"Yes, ma'am... Thea."

I nodded as he smiled back at me before shutting my door.

Aaron was already on the plane, waiting with our bags when I arrived.

He met me on top of the stairs, picked me up bridal style and carried me to the bedroom after the plane took off.

I rolled over, reaching for Aaron. We made love on the plane and then once we got to our house where we were staying he carried me into the bedroom.

I must have fallen asleep. I picked up the note he left on his pillow.

'I hope you slept well, my love. I started a fire by the water. Join me when you're ready'

I bit my lip as I stretched. Sitting up I walked over to the closet, grabbed a dress and slipped it on, smiling as I looked at myself in the mirror. I ran my hand over my stomach before adjusting the dress the rest of the way.
