Weeks had passed and Tobias and Jasper had been secretly visiting Lucine in the cabin.
Tobias and Lucine sat on the couch as he spoke to her about his day at school and how Ren had started making friends with a girl in her math class.
"That sounds great! If she's anything like her mother she'd find it difficult making friends." Lucine chuckled as she remembered how awkward her sister had acted on their first day in Forks.
"Yeah, I'm just glad she's making more girl friends." He confessed with a smile.
A comfortable silence fell between them as Tobias tried stringing the words together that he wanted to tell her.
"Lucine?" He said, catching her attention. She hummed a response. "What am I? Who am I?" These questions had been eating him alive since Lucine materialized in front of him that night. He thought he was always human, both of his parents were human so how could he not be?
She gave him a motherly smile as she let out a sigh.
"You, Tobias, are as human as it comes." He looked at her confused. "Then how could you live in my head for so long? How could I make you come back alive?" She thought for a second, trying to figure out how to say it.
"When I was alive, for the second time," She chuckled, "you were an angel. A terrifyingly beautiful angel that would come and comfort me whenever I needed you. You were my friend. You asked me to accompany you in this new body because you were scared. You hadn't been a living human in a millennium."
He sat silently as he tried to process everything she had just said.
"So, I-I am human but I used to be an angel?" He asked her as he fiddled with his bracelet. She nodded.
"Wow." Was all he could respond causing Lucine to chuckle slightly. She was too used to the supernatural to find anything as shocking but all he knew was about vampires and werewolves.
Only that of what she wrote in her journal.
"If anything, you might have a tiny speck of celestial being left in you." He looked at her wide-eyed. "Are you saying I can do magic?" She shrugged. "I don't know but I doubt it. If you could then you should've been able to by now. I think the celestial being is just there as a reminder of who you used to be." He nodded silently.
Tobias opened his mouth to say something again when a sudden swoosh of air stopped him.
In front of them stood a shocked Alice and a sorry-looking Jasper.
Lucine." She whispered. "I tried to stop her," Jasper confessed. Alice didn't waste another second before flinging herself into Lucine's arms.
Lucine stumbled back slightly, not having to carry anything weighted for so long had taken a toll on her strength.
"I can't believe you're actually here." She whispers before pulling away enough to see her face.
"And you've aged! How is that even possible?! You've been dead for so long I thought you'd still look eighteen!" Lucine couldn't help but laugh at her friend's excitement.
"It's great to see you too Alice. I've missed you." She was starting to get teary.
Suddenly, Alice let go and turned towards Tobias. Her face contorted from all the questions that were running through her head.
"Explain this." Was all she could say without bombarding the poor kid with a million questions.
Tobias stumbled to stand up, fear practicality seeping through his pours.
"Lucine says I did this while I was still an angel. I- I don't remember anything from that time. I'm sorry." He stuttered, trying his best to look the vampire in the eyes out of politeness.
Lucine knew Alice wasn't capable of hurting the boy but Jasper still stood on high alert just in case.
"Lucine?" Alice said, still looking at the shaking boy.
"Yeah?"
"Call your brothers." Lucine's eyes widened in shock. "Call my- what?! I haven't even shown my face in front of everyone yet and you want me to contact the Volturi?!" Alice simply to nodded as Lucine ran a hand through her hair.
"We'll take you to our place right now. Tobias' mom is there too and a..." Alice's eyes softened a little.
"A special someone." Tobias just looked more confused than ever.
Alice looked over at Lucine with a quick smile before starting to make her way out of the cabin.
The three of them stood in silence, shocked as they watched Alice waltz out the door.

"I'm scared," Lucine confessed as they walked closer and closer to the house. They could hear laughter and talking voices coming from the home even from where they were.
Jasper wrapped an arm around her as they continued to walk.
"Lucine, there was never a day that passed where we didn't miss you. Even Edward would go and sit at your cliff sometimes." He said making them chuckle.
Tobias on the other hand was terrified and confused.
Terrified about what the Cullens will think for keeping Lucine hidden from them for so long.
Confused as to who this special person Alice spoke about was.
All the people he cared about were in that house.
Except for, of course, his dad but he was dead. Tobias never let himself hope that his old man was still out there.
There was no use in subjecting himself to the same tortures of his mom.
"They won't hate you, Tobias. You didn't do anything wrong." Alice reassured him. He smiled politely at her but the closer they got to the house the sweatier he became and the clammier his hands felt.
"Edward should already know I'm here, shouldn't he?" Alice shook her head. "He wasn't in the house when I got the vision and I left before he got back." Lucine let out a breath of relief.
Finally, I have the upper hand for once. She giggled to herself as if she were still an eighteen-year-old girl waiting to pull the ultimate prank on her sister's boyfriend.

Hey guys, sorry for the late update!
I've been having really bad writer's block with this book so writing a merely 1k-word chapter feels a bit difficult. I hope you guys understand the recent slow updates. :))
I'll try my best to churn out more chapters considering we are reaching the end of this series!
Hope you guys enjoy and sorry if this chapter feels weird or rushed or out of place.
Thank you so much for reading!
