Present day...
Meloria and Vincent stood nervously in the Cullen house. Rosalie and Emmett were the only Cullens in there.
"Maybe something happened to him? I mean, why else would they run out like that?" Emmett suggested but their demeanors changed once they got a whiff of a certain someone. Meloria looked at them confused.
Vincent had told her about the Cullens being vampires a bit after he and Meloria reconnected.
"That- she-" Rosalie stuttered before they heard the front door open.
They waited anxiously for them to walk into the living room.
Tobias looked at his mother with a confused smile before looking at the man beside her. His face paled.
"Dad?" His voice came out more of a whisper. "Hey, Tobes," Vincent spoke, taking a step towards his son. Tobias was too shocked to move.
He wrapped his arms around his son. Tobias hesitantly hugged him back, noticing how cold he was, how he couldn't hear his heartbeat but maybe that was because his own was beating erratically in his ears.
"You're dead. Y-You're supposed to be dead, we went to your funeral." He stuttered, tears flowing freely. Meloria watched the reunion she had dreamt of for years.
"I was-well- I am dead." His father laughed, not knowing what words to use anymore. He had rehearsed day and night how and what he was going to say to Tobias but now, having him here in front of him, he was at a loss for words.
Tobias looked over at the other vampires in the room, comparing the pale coldness of his father's completion to Rosalie and Emmett. Tears started flowing. He couldn't hold them in any longer, especially with Lucine's sniffling behind him.
His father held him close, beckoning his wife over to join them in a family hug. Vincent felt the same happiness at that moment as he did the first time he held Tobias.
Rosalie held Lucine close to her as the woman she loved, the woman she thought she'd never see again wrapped her arms around her waist. They held each other close as Lucine tried holding in her tears.
She had missed the blonde more than words could ever describe.
Rosalie pulled away enough to see Lucine's face, holding her face in her hands. Feeling the warmth of her rosy cheeks against her thumbs. She couldn't believe this. She thought this was nothing about a cruel dream but then she remembered she couldn't sleep. Which meant she couldn't dream.
Jasper held Alice as they stood behind the rejoiced couple. They smiled, happy for the two, knowing that Rosalie struggled immensely without her.
Not that Lucine was any better. When she wasn't with Tobias in his consciousness, she was wallowing in longing for her lover.
"I missed you so much. I thought I was never going to see you again." Rosalie said, wishing for once in her dead life that she could cry. "There was never a moment in time where I stopped thinking about you. You are my greatest love. Forever." Rosalie finished, making Lucine cry even harder.
"I missed you so much, Rosalie. There were times when I floated in the darkness where I wish it would just swallow me whole. I hated being conscious and knowing I had no way of getting to you." She took a deep break as she ran her hand over Rosalie's soft blonde hair.
"The day Meloria and Tobias moved here, I couldn't be happier. Even if I had to see you through his eyes. Even if the only way I knew you and everyone else was okay was through Tobias' words, I was still glad I was close." Lucine confessed.
