Chapter 222 - A Demon's Heart

Chapter Cover: Eve standing there with the tattoo on her left Eye glowing with power as a scowl was upon her face.

Two silver eyes were staring back toward mine.

The face was much younger than the one I have in my memories but there was no mistaking her. She was dressed similarly than the last time we crossed paths, the cloak she was wearing pushed backward to reveal the armor she was wearing underneath. She had gauntlets around her forearms and the gleaming metal of the body armor shone in the light that was coming from the window. The young woman that stood across us had two pointed ears similar to mine poking from the curtain of midnight black hair that was falling upon her shoulders, a soft smirk was upon her lips as she was staring at us.

"Impossible...," I said, my voice breaking the silence, "It can't be you."

"You don't believe what you see right in front of your eyes?" the woman spoke out, her voice startlingly familiar to my ears, "Has it really being that long since our souls were separated."

"Eve...," Erza said, her sword at the ready, "Who is that woman?"

I couldn't even speak even if I wanted to...that's just how shocked I was my eyes just staring at her. Her voice was exactly the same as I remembered her to be...but it just wasn't possible. This woman had died right in front of my eyes...She died...so that I could live...

"Oh...," the woman spoke out, "You didn't tell them about me but I guess I can understand your...hesitancy at revealing your true nature to your...allies. As for who I am."

The woman raised her hand toward her chest.

"My name is Novaliasa Enelaros," she said, "I am a member of Tartaros and, I am also Eve's beloved mother."

I can hear both Mira and Erza gasping at the revelation and it was still unbelievable that it was actually her that was standing right across me. She looked much...much younger than the version of her I had seen when our souls were connected before she died at the Tower of Heaven when she separated us forever.

"Hey if you're Tartaros get me out of here," Crawford yelled out suddenly drawing attention toward himself as he wiggled in the binding spell that I had him in.

Nova turned her gaze toward the man on the ground, the look in her eyes similar to someone looking at a worthless piece of dirt underneath their shoes.

"Ah yes," she said, "Kyoka mentioned there was someone helping us....so you're Crawford, the man who betrayed his own kind to us....the Netherworld will be a fitting place for someone with a heart as black as yours."

She snapped her fingers and the bind around the man disappeared.

"Now then," Nova said refocusing her gaze upon us, "Me and my beloved daughter have a long overdue reunion to get to, how about the two of you...Die."

She raised her hand as it glowed a bright golden color and then an explosion overcame the area where both Erza and Mira had been standing. I instantly turned toward where the two girls were with my eyes wide with shock and terror at what had just happened to them. The attack was so fast that I didn't even sense the rise in magic.

"ERZA, MIRA," I yelled out.

"Hey that's my house, you bitch," Crawford yelled.

Part of Crawford's house was completely blown away as well as a large part of the grass land outside leaving only a smoking crater in the area but within the smoke they were two forms lying upon the ground unmoving but covered in bruises. I was by their side in a flash staring down toward the two girls that were on the ground. I could still feel their magic coming from them meaning that they weren't dead yet.
