Chapter 10

Jungkook sat up in bed with a grunt, digging the heels of his hands into his eyes. They hurt from all the crying he'd done last night. He ran his fingers through his hair with a heavy sigh and threw his covers back. There was no point in trying to go back to sleep.

From that point on it was muscle memory. He went through his usual morning routine, all the way through his shower and getting dressed. He walked out of his room, leaving the door open since he'd planned to come right back. He was dressed in sweats and a large black tee shirt instead of his usual jeans. He wasn't going to class today. There was no point; he wouldn't be able to pay attention anyway.

Jungkook walked into the living room, crossed into the kitchen, and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. He knew he should grab something to eat, but he had no appetite, so he didn't. Leaving the kitchen, he grabbed his bag from beside the couch and returned to his room. He figured since he couldn't sleep, he might as well work. He still had to edit Jimin's dance video, and even though he knew Jimin probably hated him now, he didn't want Jimin to fail his midterm. It was the least he could do. The last thing he would probably ever be able to do for him. Jungkook's heart sank at the thought.

He shoved his feelings down as he turned on his computer and sat at his desk. As it loaded, he pulled out the SD card from his camera and, once everything was ready, transferred the file. Jungkook double-clicked the file and watched his screen fill with Jimin's image. God, he looked so beautiful. How had Jungkook never realized how beautiful his best friend was? Jungkook hit play and broke out into a big smile. It was snowing, just as Jimin had hoped. As Jungkook watched the video, he was mesmerized, just as he had been the night before. Seeing Jimin dancing in the snow was so incredibly beautiful.

When the video finished, which was just shy of a minute and a half, Jungkook pulled up the music file Jimin had sent him the previous week. He opened his editing software, uploaded the video, and overlaid the music on top of it. With both combined, he hit play and lost himself in the process until he thought it was perfect, then hit play one final time. The video was now a minute and twelve seconds long.

As Jungkook watched it, no longer scrutinizing every detail, he found himself lost in it. Lost in Jimin. By the time the video finished, he was crying again. He felt so stupid for how long it had taken him to realize he had feelings for Jimin. He couldn't believe he had been so oblivious for so long. What was worse, in that minute and twelve seconds, Jungkook knew that he didn't just like Jimin. He was in love with him.

Jimin accepted the cup of coffee that Yoongi offered him as he sat tucked into the big chair that furnished Yoongi's living room, alongside an L-shaped couch and end tables.

"How are you feeling?"

Jimin shrugged. He wasn't sure, other than calmer. Yoongi had brought him back to his place after catching up to him and offering his spare room for the night. Jimin had taken him up on it because he couldn't go home. He was afraid Jungkook would be there waiting for him. There to tell him he didn't mean it. That kissing him had been a mistake. He knew he would have to deal with what happened eventually, and speak to Jungkook, but right now he couldn't. He was too scared.

"Can I ask what happened?" Yoongi asked, sitting adjacent to him on the couch.

Jimin shifted in the chair. "I told you last night."

Yoongi nodded. "Jungkook kissed you."

Hearing the words, Jimin unconsciously brought his fingertips to his lips. It was as if he could still feel Jungkook's lips on his, as if they'd burned an impression of themselves into his own. He dropped his hand back down to his lap when he realized he'd been caressing his lips, lost in the memory of how Jungkook's had felt against his.
