You struggled to muffle a gleeful giggle behind your hand as you backed further into the entrance of a tube connecting two play structures. Kids ran above and below you, shouting and playing tag. One particular girl, named Scooter, was running around trying to find you. She had called your name a few times, had stomped a few times, and had gotten a little too close to your hiding spot a few times.
One of those particular times was right now. She huffed as she crawled up the foam stairs, a challenge for a girl probably around 8 years old. She squinted her eyes, tugging on her little green tutu in frustration. She wore it over some paint-stained jeans. The color matched nicely with the frog-hoodie she was wearing. You decided to let out a little giggle, and shuffle further back to give her a chance. She heard you, and headed straight for your tube.
However, your tube was in fact not a tube. When she announced her achievement of finding you, you slipped back and were sent tumbling down the plastic slide. Landing on your face at the bottom. You could hear her excited giggling echo down from the top. She was sure it was all just theatrics. "I got you! I got you!!"
You mumbled with a weary smile, "Y-You sure did, Scoots!" A few other children hand run over to giggle at your not-so graceful landing. Standing up and you shook yourself free of embarrassment, they were just a bunch of kids after all. You were just about to announce that it had turned into a viscous game of tag when Sun called over from the arts and crafts area.
"Hey!!! Why don't we stop picking on Mx. Star? Let's do some finger-painting, macaroni art!?" You'd have to thank him later. The name Mx. Star, or Star at all, had come from you having not supplied your last name. Plus, it just made sense given both Sun and his companion were sky-bound symbols. You didn't mind being a star, anyway.
Prancing over, you found a soft spot on the playmat next to Sun to sit. His joints clicked and shuddered when he turned his head to smile at you. Busy with his hands meticulously placing macaroni. "Hello, friend! I heard that Scooter found you, she came to me so so so many times asking me to rat you out!" He giggled as Scooter ran up and started protesting.
"Oh did you?" You cocked your head around Sun's lanky figure. She backed away and pouted. "That's cheating you know, and I don't think Sun likes cheaters." Sun pulled his gaze away from you to respond to her pouty face, "But that's okay, friend!! Let's just not cheat next time!"
"Okaayyy..." Scooter whined, before the problem dropped from her mind and she was back to playing with the other kids. You sat crisscross beside Sun, rocking back and forth as you watched him make his masterpiece. With as much holding your breath and muffling your giggles you had been doing, you didn't mind just taking a moment to relax. But after that moment passed, you plucked up a piece of printer paper; Grabbing a pen from the pencil-holder Sun had brought to this particular table.
You started doodling aimlessly, with no real masterpiece in mind. Just something to do to pass the time before another kid made a mess. You were so zoned in, you barely realized your glasses slipping off your nose. You made a noise of surprise as they dropped, and an even louder one when Sun caught them. When you met his stare, he tilted his head. "Careful, you could break them y'know!"
Slowly taking them from his fingers, you nodded, "Yeah... Thanks, I was totally zoned out." His rays spun faster, and his gaze slowly panned to your paper. They extended a little past their 'max' length, before spinning again, "Oh star, is that me!?"
He was loud enough it caught a few of the children's attention, they came pouring over to your table. Their voices carrying a chorus of 'Did Mx. Star draw Sun?'
You had, indeed, doodled Sun while you had been zoned out. It wasn't anything particularly award-winning. Just a small sketch of him playing with another kid. You hadn't even noticed you had drawn him until Sun pointed it out.
