The daycare had been oddly quiet when you entered this morning. The jolly theme played overhead, it was almost as repetitive as that one horrendous Christmas song from your old job.

You set your backpack down next to one of the security desk computers. Honestly, you weren't sure why there was more than one given that there was only one of you. Maybe they had planned to have humans instead of animatronics? You didn't mind though, Sun and Moon were perfect replacements. The drawer shifted, empty other than holding your fazwatch. Retrieving it, you stepped over to clock in.

Still, Sun hadn't come up to you at all. You thought maybe if you just went on about your routine he'd jump out with spinning rays as a surprise. Looking around, you stepped out from behind the security desk. "Sunny? Are you alright?"

There was a yelp and a multitude of crashing from above. "Y-Yes! Oh- Oh dear... uhm... Yes, just a moment, Sunshine!!" He sounded as jolly as ever, but upstairs in his room he was warbling as he picked up whatever had fell over in his fright. Soon after, he peaked his head out from behind the curtain.

"Hello Sunshine, is it morning already?" Well, that was some new attitude. You nodded, shouting in agreement up at him as he jumped down with his tether. Jingling, he landed right in front of you causing you to take a step back. He clasped his hands together before fidgetting with them.

"I'm so so so sorry, star! I was working on your puzzle a little bit... I-I hope you don't mind!" He grinned meekly. "Of course I don't mind, Sunny. It's your puzzle." You reached up to give him a gentle pat on the forehead of his faceplate. When your hand pulled away, his rays spun a little faster.

"I had so so much fun with it, it's very difficult for my large hands! But that's part of the challenge!" Sun wiggled his fingers at you. You caught his hands in your own and pulled them down to look cloer at them. Sun thought he was going to overheat! "Hmm..." You hummed thoughtfully, Sun repeated the noise but with a confused tilt of his head. "Hmm?"

"You have claw slots too." You duly noted, running a thumb over the edge of his own. His hands were the exact same size as Moon's, just a different color. "O-Oh... I uhm, I do! I never ever use them though! They're just for opening packages!" He explained, but you already knew this.

You let his hands slip away from yours, "I think it's a really smart design choice...! It's super helpful." His rays returned to their sway once again as he grinned down at you. "Really? I-I never really thought of them as anything but a danger-- For the kiddos I mean! I'm very, very careful with them!"

Shaking your head, you stuffed your hands in your pockets. "I don't think you need to be, since you're able to control them, right?" Sun nodded profusely, sticking his index in the air as a little claw popped out. He started with a triumphant grin, but it soon turned to a worried one. He wasn't exactly proud of his claws...

Swaying unconsciously to match him, you were stimming gently with your hands patting against the side of your legs. "Exactly. So you won't cause harm unless you mean to." Sun swayed side to side on his feet, matching your pace. "Yeah, you're right! I w-would never, ever want to hurt anyone though!" He added quickly.

You flexed your own hands, in a claw pose near your face. Your nails were painted in your favorite color. "Humans have claws too, kind of. We call 'em nails." His eyes sparkled down at you, but he wasn't looking at your nails. He was looking at your rings. The tables flipped, and now your hands were being fondled in his. "Oh! You have another ring!" He ran his thumb gingerly across the crescent moon. Your cheeks flushed a darker shade, "Yeah, Moon got it for me... Since I already had a Sun one." You wiggled that finger, and Sun's faceplate moved back and forth around as he searched your fingers with pupiless eyes.
