OPHELIA WOULD BE lying if she said she wasn't freaked out a bit. She didn't know what to expect and the uncertainty made her worry.
However, seeing Darius so nervous and worried was unsettling, so, regardless of how she was feeling, Ophelia plastered a reassuring smile on her face.
"As long as you are not a spy, a murderer, a rapist or a criminal, I think the rest can be understood."
Darius shot her a thankful smile but she could still see the anxiousness behind it. It still lingered, even as he started speaking.
"When the world was created millennials ago, it wasn't just humans, animals and plants, other creatures were created too and they are called the supernatural creatures.
"Werewolves, Vampires and Witches were the main creatures but cross-breeding from these three species brought forth other species but they are mostly extinct now since the war started centuries ago.
"Humans feared the creatures and the abilities they possessed so they wanted to have them wiped out. But compared to these creatures, humans had limited lifespan, powers and abilities.
"So when the humans waged war against the creatures, they were easily defeated. After centuries of war and bloodshed, a peace treaty was drawn and the creatures now live in peace with humans.
"The humans slowly forgot about the creature's existence as the peace treaty forbade your ancestors from telling their offspring of the existence of creatures.
"Now, only the President and the Governors are allowed to know about their existence and telling any other person would cause a breach of the treaty.
"Being given Montana by the United States, the werewolves decided to settle in the United States, but quickly spread to other countries.
"The Vampires settled in different parts of Europe, living in clans, while the Witches moved around and travelled in Covens, but also spread out to different areas in the world.
"All three creatures have a common ruler. A Queen for the witches and a King each for the Werewolves and Vampires. There are also leaders below the monarchy. Coven leaders for witches and clan leaders for vampires.
"The werewolf system is a lot more complicated, I will tell you about that later. These creatures live amongst humans and exist just as the humans do."
For a few seconds, Ophelia said nothing and only watched Darius, as if expecting him to say something else. When she realised that he was waiting for her to say something, her lips formed an 'o'.
"Wow, that was an interesting story, which writer wrote it? I am definitely going to recommend it to Monica. Fantasy books are her obsession," Ophelia said, then frowned.
"But wait, weren't you going to tell me about yourself, and finally unveil all this mystery that surrounds you. I don't understand. What made you decide to tell me a story instead?" She asked.
