THROWING PUNCH AFTER punch with Darius dodging each and every one of them, Mayhem let out a loud frustrated growl.

The Alpha King smirked at this and then punched Mayhem right on the nose, attracting a loud cheer from the crowd.

Mayhem remained standing but was now sporting a broken and bloody nose. Darius winced at the bloody sight. That would certainly hurt.

Ignoring his broken nose, Mayhem rushed at Darius with a speed Darius did not see coming, intending to send both of them crashing, but at the last moment, he picked Darius up into a crushing bear hug.

Darius hung above Mayhem's head and stared at Samuel. Knowing what was coming, Samuel smirked.

Darius slammed the pointed parts of his elbows right at the top of Mayhem's head. The latter let out a roar and quickly put Darius down, his head rubbing against Darius's abdomen.

Suddenly, Darius stilled and slowly looked down to see a bloody trail on his shirt.

With narrowed eyes, the Alpha King walked towards Mayhem, deciding to end this quickly so he could go and figure out what was going on and why a human would control the speed of a supernatural being.

Darius sent a spinning kick to the back of Mayhem's neck. Without giving his opponent the chance to recover, Darius grabbed Mayhem and hauled him over his head, driving him to the ground.

He picked Mayhem and held him up by his neck. Mayhem tapped Darius's hand as his face quickly turned red.

"You got your blood on my shirt. That was your biggest mistake."

With that said, the Alpha King put Mayhem down and in the same movement, gave a powerful uppercut, dazing Mayhem long enough for him to deliver the final blow to his temple which knocked Mayhem out.

The crowd went silent as they watched their champion go down unconscious. Men in white quickly came in and hauled Mayhem over to a door on the right.

With his eyes, Darius gestured for Samuel to go check it out, and with a nod, Samuel did as he was told and quietly walked away as the announcer stepped in to announce the winner of the fight.

"So what did you find when you entered the clinic?"

"Alpha, you were right in thinking the fighter was not fully human. He probably was, some time ago but someone is making him into something else.

"When you made his nose bleed, I know you smelled the scent of vampire blood and that irritated your wolf.

"Once Mayhem was taken into the room before the door closed, I was hit with the scent of blood and it was not just any kind of blood, it was the blood of a vampire.

"I suspect that they are replacing the blood in his veins with the blood of a vampire," the Earl Delta Captain explained.

The Alpha King nodded. "I thought as much. It seems like the blood is beginning to take effect.

"They must have drained him of all the blood in his body and replaced it with vampire blood. However, for this to work, it must have been done over a long period."

"But isn't it that the blood of a vampire turns to dust once it leaves the body of the vampire?" Samuel asked in confusion.

"True and that is why I think this is the handiwork of a witch, " Darius concluded.

"But now the question remains; why would a witch want to turn humans into vampires? Just like us, wolves, Vampires and Witches have hated each other for centuries," Samuel said.

"This was done by a witch who was either too bored and just wanted to raise dust, or had malicious intent.

"The rogue wolf was probably their doing, too. I know this because the Rogue Alpha is too careful to let rogue wolves out on the loose," Darius told them.

"So, what do we do about it, Alpha?" Samuel asked.

The Alpha King chuckled. "I guess Noriel would have to pay a visit to the witch, Fiona. She'll know what to do. "

The Earl Delta Captain shook his head in amusement. "Duke Beta Noriel isn't going to like hearing this."

"Noriel will be fine. He just has to survive through hours of Fiona fawning over his good looks."

ONCE THE DOOR closed, she collapsed onto her bed

ONCE THE DOOR closed, she collapsed onto her bed. Squeezing her eyes shut, Ophelia wondered what her life had become.

It was bad enough that she got abandoned by the same people who were supposed to protect her, now she had to be exploited by them, too.

It would have been better if she was sent to an orphanage when she was born, that way, she would have certainly believed that she had no family. And if she were lucky, she might have been adopted by a better family.

She had never asked for too much in her life.

All she wanted was for someone to hold her when she cried, console her when she was sad, rejoice with her when she was happy. But most of all, she craved for someone to tell her that she was enough.

Although Aunt Isobela stood in as her mother, she could never give Ophelia the love she so badly desired.

Their relationship was restricted to a teacher and her student. And that was all thanks to Grandmother Caroline who was somehow always watching Ophelia's every move.

Sighing, Ophelia opened her eyes and stared blankly at the ceiling.

Tomorrow was finally the day she was going to start her new life. She already took a day off to help the movers take all her things to the new apartment.

She thought she had her life planned out, without any interference, but of course, something like this had to happen to try to toss her plans into the recycle bin.

But Ophelia would not let them control her anymore. She was the author of her own destiny and she would be damned if she let anyone ruin things for her anymore.

The next morning, Ophelia helped herself to a hearty breakfast. She quickly munched on the toast and eggs. She was almost done eating when the doorbell rang.

Moving her plates aside, she got up and walked to the door. She looked through the peephole and saw that it was not the movers but her brother.

Ophelia pushed herself away from the door with no intention of opening the door.

Previously, Ophelia could handle Leonidas but hearing what Pauline said about him coming for her, she couldn't help but be wary of him.

She knew Leonidas was a strange person. He never said more than five sentences to her whenever they met and he always seemed to have his eyes on her.

She would never tell him to look away no matter how weird his stares made her feel. Now as he stood in front of her door, Ophelia wished she had told him off before.

Maybe that would have killed any ideas he had about their marriage.
