High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: Season 4

Welcome Back! Assembly

It was time for the school assembly, also Miss Jenn's announcement of the play. The Wildcats make sure to sit together.

"Hey."

Eliot approaches the Wildcats, who roll their eyes. "What do you want?" Carlos asks. "Nothing from you, glasses. You" he digs in his pocket and hands 5 dollars to Gina, much to her surprise. "Skylar talked to me."

"Thanks."

Elliot quickly walks to the top corner, putting his hood over his head. Gina ponders to herself. Give him a chance. Well, now's a chance. "I'm gonna go talk to him," she tells Ricky.

"You sure?"

"Yeah."

She stands up and walks over. "Hey, you."

"Hey, I already gave you your money, you're not getting anything else."

"I actually, just came to talk. Skylar told me to give you a chance."

"Did she now?" He was barely listening to her, trying to think of everything he could do to get her to stop talking.

"Well, I'm not going anywhere, so might as well get to know each other. I'm Gina, transfer student. So is it true? You're the East High bad boy?"

"That's not an official title, since we're talking, princess."

"Don't call me that."

"Well, you're walking to me and you won't listen to anyone, like a spoiled princess, what else am I supposed to call you?"

"Gina, my name."

"Fine, GINA" Elliot stands up, looking at the dancer dead in the eye, crossing his arms. "What do you want from me?"

"To know you. Hanging with the bad boy kinda gives me some street cred. More than I already have. You're not a drama geek, you're always late to class, black seems to be your favorite color-"

"Did you say that Skylar asked you to give me a chance or did she pay you to talk to me?"

"Seriously? I do things on my own."

"And you're not scared?" Elliot takes a step closer. Most people are usually scared to talk to him. "Please. I'm the one who scares. You should know that. It's either eat or be eaten. That's why I'm interested in you. Outsiders keep people on their toes. I mean it."

"You said you're an outsider?"

"I was. I just...found the right group. If you ever want a spot, we'll welcome you" and with that, Gina walks away. Eliot just stares there, staring into the distance. A group of friends does sound cool, but he liked being on his own.

"How'd it go?" Ricky asks as she takes a seat next to him. "A little rough around the edges, but so am I."

"Hello, Wildcats" The principal smiles. "I'm so glad to be back for yet another year at East High. WHAT TEAM?"

"WILDCATS!"

"WHAT TEAM?"

"WILDCATS!"

"WHAT TEAM?"

"WILDCATS! GETCHA HEAD NI THE GAME!"

"Ah, never gets old. Now, before anything, our drama teacher, Miss Jenn would like to make an announcement."

Miss Jenn takes the microphone from the principal. "Thank you, and good morning Wildcats! Now, East High has been selected for a very special opportunity. We have been selected to help produce a Disney classic somewhere very special."

"I'm on the edge of my seat" Carlos squeals.

"We are going to BROADWAY!"

Everyone erupted into a fit of screams, Kourtney being the one to thrash her body every which way. No one could believe they were actually gonna be on the actual Broadway. "Did she just...did she just say...the B-word?" Carlos practically fainted, and Ashlyn and Seb had to catch him.

"Ha! Can you believe it! Broadway, El!" Skylar smiles, who found a seat next to Elliot. Elliot couldn't help but smile at her friend's excitement. "You're gonna kill it, Sky." Eliot had a massive soft spot for his best friend.

"We are going to be putting on a production of the Disney classic, Tangled at the Eccles Theater. Auditions are tomorrow after school. I highly advise you to consider it. As someone who previously did theater, this could change your lives."

The room explodes in chatter and excitement and cheers as everyone starts gossiping. "Wait, is she for real?" Gina smiles widely. She's never been on Broadway before. This is like a dream come true.

"This could be our big break!" Ashlyn squeals.

"The best way to start our senior year!" Kourtney practically screams.

"My dream is coming true!" Carlos was fanning himself before he fainted again. "I'm DEFINITELY auditioning now! My name is destined to be in headlights! Carlos Rodriguez, broadway star."

"Yay! We're all doing it!" Seb smiles

"So if you are ready to go from amateurs to actual Broadway stars! The permission slips are next to my office! And to give you a sneak peek, we will be going by the Eccles Theater after school today. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, trust the process. Please think about it."

Carlos Talking Head

As a thespian and young star in the making, I basically have 0 chills about this. I have the same dream every night. Singing my heart out on Broadway, a standing ovation, and right when I'm about to ask to have an agent. But then I woke up. And now it's all coming true!!!"

Nini's Talking Head

So first Gina puts me in contact with her brother's music producer, I created an album, and now I'm gonna be on Broadway with my friends. This is completely insane! I can't believe it!

School was about to end. Ashlyn and Gina were heading to Miss Jenn's office last to get their permission slips, but also because they needed to ask Miss Jenn a very important question. The girls approach and knock on the door.

"Gina! Ashlyn! Girls, come in!" Their drama teacher smiles. "Are you here for the permission slips?"

"Yes, but we're also here for a question," Gina says as they take a seat. "Aw girls, anything."

"So you know how EJ's taking a gap year?"

"I do."

"Well, if it's allowed, do you think we could invite him to Broadway? You said so yourself, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and everyone should get to experience it. Please let us invite him."

"Girls, EJ is my tallest child. And I want all my children to be involved in this special opportunity. Of course, I want him to come, invite him!"

"AHHH!" The girl shrieked, giving Miss Jenn the biggest hug. They couldn't wait to tell EJ.
