scar faced man

You woke up at 6:05 and got into your hero costume. You had made your way to the training room, forgetting which one it was and trained for an hour. After breakfast, Mirko took you out on the streets in your hero costume.

"Alright, we're going to be running around the city the second we get a call, so you better have good stamina." Mirko said, fixing her shoes. "If you get lost, find your own way back."

"Sounds great." You said, tucking your hair behind your ears.

"Now, I don't know what you'd heard about me, but I don't work in a team. So, if you can, try not to tell me what to do. Work it out on your own, but if you get stuck, holler." Mirko waved to a couple who walked by and took pictures. 

"I won't get stuck." You scoff, making the rabbit hero look at you.
"That's what they all say."

"Mirko! We've got a bank robbery a block away!" Someone through the comms in your ears said, it sounded like they were running.

"Move it!" Mirko bolted away. She was fast, her legs allowed her to move long distances at a fast pace.
She was way ahead of you already and she'd only taken a few steps, you used your quirk to move faster. People watched in awe as Mirko ran past them, their hair flying in the direction she went as she zoomed.

The sound of a car skidding along the road and then seeing Mirko jump high into the air made you turn the corner. You went around the block, running to the back of the car. You made it just in time as the car started to reserve backwards.

You extended your hands, stopping the vehicle from moving, instead making it skid along the road, making steam in the ground. The next second, glass broke through the car and an arrow shot straight at you.
Moving quickly, you straightened your ring fingers, making the arrow come to a sudden holt a meter away from your face. You dropped the arrow on the ground and not a moment later more arrows shot out from the back, followed by blue fire.

"L/n! Move!"

The fire was heading right at you, your eyes widened and you moved your focus from the car to the fire. You kept it in an uneven ball before shooting it towards the sky and ducking out of the way from the car.

 While on the road, you extended your arm and then yanked it backwards once you got hold of the car. The car door opened and someone ran out, but the car itself still rolled along the ground and stopped upside down.

"I've got these guys, go after that one!" Mirko told you, slamming her foot down on the car and making a huge impact.

For a moment, you hesitated. You weren't actually sure if you were allowed to use your quirk on someone without a hero license, but you didn't have enough time to think through all that right now, so you went with it.

"Got it." You started to run in the direction of the man that escaped. By looking at a few civilians that had their heads turned all in the same way, you had a pretty good idea on where this guy went.
Following him to the back of an alley way, he stopped running, sighing and hanging his head.

"You know, I do try and not to kill kids." He said, slowly turning around. "But I don't really care if I do."

"Yeah, that's what normal people say." You raised your hand. "Don't fucking move or use your quirk."

The face of the man was hidden by shadows, but it was easy to make out the dark scars around his eyes and jaw. Even though he wore a long sleeve shirt, it was also clear to see the scars on his arms and neck.
"You're rude."

"Oh, I'm sorry, did I hurt your feelings?" You asked with no emotion laced in your tone at all. "You really just left your buddies back there didn't you."

"Not my buddies. I was going to kill them all after we ran away, but I have enough money to get by now. I don't care what happens to them." The scar faced man raised  his hand. "And now I'm going to kill you."

"Can't wait." You added, raising your other hand and pushing the scarred man back to the end of the wall. Fire erupted and you were choppy to keep it in it's poor shaped ball. Your hands shook a little and you actually started to slid backwards from the force of the flames.

You could heat the heat burning off the flames and licking your skin even though you weren't close enough to be badly damaged by it. You tired to stand your ground, but you got pushed back, your feet skidding along the ground.

The sun started to shine on you as the fire pressure was so great it pushed you out of the alleyway. You were trying to hold the fire in a line so it wouldn't burn through the buildings or hit other people. You also tried to make it levelled so it wouldn't burn up along the buildings either.

You heard the thundering of footsteps, but didn't dare to look away. Your hands started to strain themselves, and that wasn't fun.

"L/n, what's going on?" Mirko asked urgently.

"This guys got -a fire quirk, and it's fucking strong." You said, doing your best. "He's at he back of the alley wa-"

An arrow skimmed past your hand, creating a minor cut in your palm. You faltered for just a second and the fire spread like wildfire, eating everything around you. "Shit!"

You raised your hand in the air, trying to get the fire into the air and away from people and buildings. Mirko ran into the alleyway and by the time fire officials arrived, the blue haired man had gotten away.

You were treated in the back of an ambulance for your hair and the graze on your knee you didn't notice. Mirko walked up to you, barely a scratch on the woman.
"You did good kid. I underestimated the villain, that's on me. You were right to hold the flame from the buildings, that was good."

She said it so awkwardly, it sounded forced. You side eyed a flashing light nearby and there was an odd feeling in the air. It was so awkward. Mirko eventually patted your head and walked away. She wasn't lying when she said he doesn't like to work in a team, the woman doesn't know how.
