The first thing you heard was the constant beeping. It was a heart rate monitor, you were hearing, that you could tell.
You blinked your eyes opened, shutting them almost intsantly from the light that sweeped into the room.

After hearing a shuffle and the noise of blinds being pulled down, you opened one eye to see the face of your teacher.
His usual scruffy look and hero costume, but his scampy beard was shaved for the press conference.

Your eyes became more alert and you searched the room, finding no one else in sight.

"Bakugo- where is he? Is he safe? And Midoriya, Kirishima? And Iida?" You rushed your words, ignoring the grainy feeling in your throat.

"They are all fine." He eased your worries. "There will be punishment for going against the rules for your...friends, but they are all unharmed."

The dreaded feeling was still in the air. Something was wrong, Aizawa was choosing his words carefully.

"All Might?" Maybe he was covering up for the cameras and collaspe or something along the way.

"He's expected to make a dull recovery. Although his hero days are evidently over." Aizawa trudged back to the chair in the corner, rubbing his eye with his wrist.

You looked down to the sheet, thinking about if you missed anything. It clicked and you gazed down on your wrist. There was a bandage wrapped around it, but the braclet was gone.
You stuck you hand out and lifted the vase of a single rose on the deskside. You smiled to yourself.

"Whatever it was, it took a few hours to get it off. 3 hours and 22 minutes to be exact. Kirishima told me what he'd done, and although he was very guilty about it, he was pleased to see how you took it. To quote, he said 'the manliest girl ive ever seen.'"

You cracked a smile, not once thinking you'd heard those words from Aizawa's mouth.
A cursed thought ran through your mind, and you whipped your head up to Aizawa.

"I can still train, right? Im still in the hero course. My knee isnt permentant...right?" You breathed sballow breaths.

"No. You will be cut from any hero classes for the time being until your knee heals. With Recovery Girl's exessive treatment, you should be back within a week."

"A week? I have to sit around for that long? Dude- I mean, sir- why cant...i just...."

He still had that look on his face. There was something he hadnt told you. The air was still shallow and wrong.
Now that your senses were coming together, you pieced it that he shouldnt even be in the room.

"What? Your not telling me something. What happen?" You swallowed the spit storing in your mouth.

Aizawa sighed, looking at the ground. "There isnt an easy way to put this." You hated those words, the amount of time you heard them before was enough to make you li- "Your Uncle, Gei, has passed away"

You searched Aizawa's face, trying to read him. "...what?"

"We made a phone call to tell him you were back. He answered and made it clear he was rushing over. It had been more than hour, so we rang him again. He didnt pick up." He dragged on the story, but it only made your worry worsen. "When we drove over to find out what was the issues...your home was burning. Fire officals were taming the fire, but they couldnt go in, there was too much of a risk. After it was contained medical sercives ran in...Gei didnt make it to the hopsital in time...I'm sorry."

Your head was spinning.
Gei...is gone? He burnt to death in a fire...? He's dead? No...no, he cant be dead, he doesnt know if I'm okay, he...he cant...
