malia's perspective;
Luke followed me into the kitchen, where I poured us both a glass of wine. He reached over and took the glass, before taking it all down in one go.
"Do you want some mor-"
"Yes, please," He said quickly, cutting me off.
I poured him another glass, before I could feel another silence approaching us.
"So, do you want to talk-"
"Why did you tell Erin that you thought we were over?" Luke asked quickly, keeping his gaze on the wine that was swirling around his glass.
"I-um . . . I don't know," I sighed. "I didn't know what to do, Luke. You were ignoring any type of message that I tried to send you, I was almost positive that you wanted nothing to do with me," I tried explained, placing my wine cup on the side.
"What, so just because I ignored you for a week you thought you could just give up on me?"
"No, I wasn't giving up on you, Luke. You have to understand," I pleaded, taking a step closer to him and placing my hands on his chest. "When you didn't speak to me, I felt . . . so alone. I needed some sort of distraction, something to replace the missing void of you. That's why I kissed that dude, that's all it was."
"Replace? Am I just an object to you?" Luke asked, shrugging my hands off his chest and taking a step backwards.
"No, I didn't mean it like that, Luke. I just . . . I don't know," I huffed, dropping my head into my hands.
"Did you-Did you like it?" Luke asked, almost hesitantly.
"Is that a serious question? Of course not, I just needed something to get you off my mind," I explained, waving my hands around.
"Explain everything, Malia. I want to know exactly how it happened," Luke stated firmly, crossing his arms over his chest and I couldn't help but notice his tattoos seaming through his tight white top.
"Okay. I went to the club with one of my friends from college-"
"Who's that friend?"
"Maxine. Anyways, we went in and she walked off with some other dude, so I decided to go dance for a bit. I had a few drinks, so I didn't really have much balance and this guy helped me stay up, so I thanked him and then . . . he-he started dancing with me. At first it felt really uncomfortable, but after a few drinks I just had to imagine that he was you."
I took a deep breath, before continuing.
"He leaned in and he kissed me, but it wasn't anything, Luke. All he done was jam his tongue down my throat, god I just wanted him to be you," I cried, picking at my finger nails.
I looked up at him to see him staring intensely at the floor. He jumped off the counter and slowly made his way over to me.
"Come here," He whispered, holding his arms out for me.
Without think twice, my hands wormed around him and I was finally at a place where I could call home, where I was comfortable.
"I'm so sorry," I whimpered into his shoulder.
"Let's just forget this ever happened," Luke whispered, planting a soft kiss on my forehead.
"I don't deserve you," I said truthfully, shaking my head side to side as his hands came up to cup my cheeks.
"Listen to me, okay? You're amazing and beautiful and I'm not going to let one stupid misshapen get between us. Me and you, we're gonna be good, okay? You just have to trust me on this one," He said, smiling before pressing his lips against mine.
