━━━ "Any cravings from the kitchen?" I inquired, meticulously lighting a candle to cast a warm glow across the living room. Ace lounged on the sofa, his contemplative expression shifting as he made eye contact. The flickering light accentuated his striking red eyes and distinctive features, creating a captivating sight as he broke into a bright smile.

"Got anything cherry-flavored?" he inquired, and my response of shaking my head was met with a subtle disappointment in his expression.

"Unfortunately not," I admitted with a sheepish smile, witnessing a fleeting downturn in his enthusiasm.

"Water it is, then," he muttered, accepting the simple offering.

"Alright, I'll be back."

A few minutes later

A few minutes later...

Seated beside him on the couch, legs crossed, I handed him one of the two water-filled cups I held. Sipping from my own, I smiled as the refreshing coldness slid down my throat. "So... how did you end up with that collar?" I asked, observing his gaze shift to meet mine.

"I ate a tart," Ace muttered, taking a hearty gulp of water, prompting a perplexed raise of my eyebrow.

"You... ate a tart?" I questioned, receiving a nod from him. I stared at him in bewilderment. "Are you serious right now?"

Ace turned to face me, huffing, "Yeah, that's it! That's all I did!" he exclaimed loudly, and I swiftly covered his mouth with my hand, shushing him.

"Grim is asleep; keep it down," I reminded him in a hushed tone, removing my hand.

"Sorry..." he apologized before taking a deep breath. "I was a little hungry, see, so I went down to the dorm kitchen and found some tarts in the fridge. Three whole tarts! Big ones, too!"

Three whole tarts! Big ones, too!"
