Spell Drive?"Hey, Headmage, what's the deal? What does fightin' ghosts got to do with blot?" Grim groaned while huffing out in defeat as he laid down on the ground. Breathing heavily, I grabbed my magic pen; flipped it over and checked the magestone. Only to discover small, but prominent, inky blotching that dotting the surface. Taking my coffee stained blouse, I rubbed the stone only to see that the black spots wouldn't come off. Tilting my head, I thought to myself while nodding, Interesting reaction.
Crowley walked over towards Grim, and with his long and pointy fingers he motioned towards the cat's necklace, "Direct your attention to the magestone on your collar, Mr. Grim." Crowley stated calmly while smiling as he stood up straight to observe. Turning, I watched as Grim grabbed the stone and brought it up to eye level only to also see the black blotching.
Quickly jumping up, Grim tried to rub the 'dirt' off with his thumb, "Myah?! My magestone looks all grungy now," Grim complained as he looked back only to see the spot still there. This caused him to rub the gem faster, "...MYAH?! It won't rub off!"
Smiling, hopefully getting the reaction he was hoping for, Crowley placed his cane on the ground and leaned against it almost smugly, "Precisely." The crow man spoke while gesturing with his hands to the the ink blotches in my pen, "Those inky black stain is the byproduct of spellcasting known as a blot."
Deuce quickly turned his pen around and gasped, "There's some grime on my magical pen, too!" Grim just sighed while attaching the gem back around his neck while the fire in his ears dulled out, "Ewww! This is capital-G Gross!"
Humming to myself—drawing Crowley's attention to peel away from the complaining cat and bring it over to me—as I held up the magic pen with my dominant hand and pointed at the gem with the other, "Will it come off eventually?"
Crowley just nodded in return, "It will."
Hearing a deep sigh come from Grim, "Phew! Had me worried there." Grim mumbled sheepishly while walking over towards where I stood—which was in front of the really big window.
"How would you go about getting rid of the splotching? I'm only asking just in case this entails again," I asked while placing my hand on my hip.
"Like some kinda special soap or somethin'?" Grim asked confusingly while glancing up at me whist tilting his head. Glancing down at him, I snickered, "Yes exactly like magical soap Grim."
Sighing then shaking his head, Crowley explained, "With sufficient rest, blot will vanish from your magestone. This is why a magestone is so valuable to magic users," Crowley started causing me to nod in acknowledgement, "Not only does it aid your casting, it also serves as a lightning rod of sorts, to prevent blot from accumulating within the caster."
Deuce who stood next to Ace inputted, "I see. So when our magestones start to get cloudy, that means it's time for us to ease off." Nodding in agreement, I gave a thumbs up of encouragement.
