A Detective TeamA little while later...
"So the headmage asked you to investigate?" Riddle asked as he elegantly sat down his cup of white peony tea with a small click—the yellow mixture swishing back in forth in the porcelain and bone China tea cup. The base color was baby blue, and it was decorated with cream colored daisies.
Taking my tea cup, I took a sip of the tea. This Chinese tea boasts a fruity flavor, smooth body, and a stronger edge that offers a flavor more similar to mild green teas. For my taste buds, I decided on putting in some honey and lemon—Cater said it adds a sweet, earthy flavor. Definitely a required taste.
However, what made me laugh, was that Cater made the tea for Riddle and I—mumbling something about, "typical host hospitality." Furthermore, what really caught my attention was that apparently Cater made this blend to aid in improving blood flow, pain, hyperpigmentation, and mood disorders. A perfect blend of tea for Riddle, Cater had said.
"He did, originally I wanted to say no. However, he said that Grim and I here could possibly play in the tournament if we helped," I sighed while taking another sip of the sweet, hot tea, slightly burning my tongue in the process.
"I knew it. Grim coming by for a get-well visit? That's just plain suspicious," Cater, who had walked in from the small kitchenette, sunk down into the red plated sofa across from Grim and I. He grinned slightly, as his half-lidded green eyes met mine as he spoke, "However (Y/N), Sunshine, you are available here anytime." He then used his thumb and pointer finger to form a heart—I rolled my eyes.
Riddle sitting upright in his chair, began to speak with his hands again, "I must admit that I found the circumstances odd as well. I've had Cater looking into it for me."
Taking a quick glance over at Cater who held my gaze sharply, "I found out that all of the victims have been talented players like Riddle and Trey," Cater responded while twirling a piece of his bangs as a form of distraction all the while putting the dots together whilst smiling at me specifically.
Frowning, I felt ashamed and stupid that I couldn't even draw such a simple conclusion. Yet feeling a comforting hand of reassurance, being placed upon my shoulder. I turned only to be greeted with a smiling Deuce, "I believe in you (N/N), you're really smart. You can crack this case."
"Thanks Blueberry."
"No problem Sherlock."
"To be clear, it wasn't as if I had been pushed, or that I had tripped," Riddle mumbled as he crossed his arms while glaring down at the wooden heart shaped table in front of him. The air in the room grew thick with tension as I sat up and listened intently, "But I did feel a peculiar sensation, like... my body was moving of its own volition."
"The other victims said basically the same thing!" Grim yelled from the left side of me as he angrily stood up, his hands on his hips, heart and ears set a blaze with intense fury.
