𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐓. 𝐖𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃

━━━ "𝐘𝐨𝐮" I froze as I felt the (f/c) hairs stand up on the back of my neck. Out of fear, I slowly turned my head around to only feel an oozing, burning, ebony liquid hit my face causing me to locate the source. Gradually I looked up from the cavern floor only to be met with some type of nightmarish creature. Can I even call it that?

Yet, in dread or disbelief, I couldn't help but murmur out, "You look like one of the dwarfs that would have stayed in the house we were in earlier. You were the one stalking us..." The monster slouched and groaned out as it staggered closer to the four of us. Taking in its outfit it wore a ragged, red long-sleeved t-shirt with gold accent buttons and a dark brown little hat on top of its head; but what stood out the most was that its head was what appeared to be that of a glass jar with a crack on the front of it.

That must have been where this awful tar-like liquid came from, I thought while touching the substance with my (s/c) fingers; only to be met with a sticky and smelly substance.

"...iiivvv... ...oooouuu..." It groaned out in what almost sounded like agony, yet I couldn't focus on what it said since I was still trying to figure out what this weird substance was; not realizing that the evil gnome was about to be rude enough to swing its dull rusty pickaxe at me. Luckily Deuce was able to pull me back just in time.

"What the fuck are you?" I exclaimed while whipping the substance on the bottom of my plain light gray t-shirt. Small paws wrapped themselves onto my leg causing me to look down only to see Grim clinging to my leg like a lost child. I just rolled my eyes and looked back over to the problem at hand. The monster. All that came out of the monster's mouth was what appeared to be another groan.

"Stooonesss... Stooonesss aaare miiiiine!" It cried as it frantically dashed at us for an attack luckily Ace summoned a gust of wind; Deuce summoned a ball of fire, and I summoned a sphere of water. This allowed for the three of us to hit him which put him into a temporarily dazed state.

Taking advantage of this, I nodded to both Ace and Deuce then towards the exit causing them to nod in agreement. Finally, I rushed to pick up Grim while turning my heel I ran off with the others, "That fucking bird man didn't say anything about monsters." I exclaimed to no one in particular as the three of us rounded the sharp rocky corner.

Huffing out Deuce nodded in agreement, "Yeah, no one said there'd be monsters out here."

Ace just glanced at him in disbelief, "I get what you're saying and all Juice, but we still need those stones. But it seems as if the precious gems are equivalent to his personal belongings or something."

At this point, the three of us were almost at the entrance of the mine only to hear the same agonistic moaning and groaning from a few feet behind us causing us to stop and slowly turn, "Stooonesss... ...nevvva give stooonesss...!"

"AHHHH," Grim, Deuce, and Ace screamed out in fear, but I was just doing a sacred prayer that my mother taught me when I was younger. But yet as I did this it hit me like a truck, Maybe the creature is talking about the magestones?

"So there ARE still magestones here!" Deuced cried out in I couldn't tell was disarray or happiness, but hey at least he was smart enough to figure it out.

Slowly the four of us saw the monster round the corner causing Ace and Deuce to step in front of me and Grim while holding up two magic... pens? I'm not gonna ask. Grim trembled as he cried out, "Myaaah... Even as a master sorcerer, I... I don't think I can take that thing down!"

I just pat him on the head for reassurance causing Grim to tremble a little less, but he didn't completely stop. Glancing behind his shoulder Ace muttered, "Don't worry since I am a lot better at magic than the two of you so I will protect you. Trust me."

Deuce nodded firmly, "Me too, I shall protect you too (Y/N), Grim. But we need to also remember that we need a magestone or we'll get expelled."

Smirking I stood up and walked between the two idiots while forming a bubble of water in my hand, "I can fight for myself guys. Worry about Grim if anything, but I am resourceful enough to figure out what to do on my own. Thank you for the thought though," Then I stepped forward, "Now if you'll excuse me. I'm going to go get that magestone."

Baffled, Ace's mouth hung open, and he yelled out. "Are you outta your mind?! You're going to get yourself killed."

"Good."

"Good?!"

Deuce then stepped forward with a fiery passion, he then quickly threw his fist up in the air, "I am with (Y/N) on this one. I will not be expelled! No matter what!"

"Y'all... are dumbasses."
