28. SHE'S GETTING MARRIED

LISA'S POV

9.57am. Just in time. We have 3 minutes 'til 10. I paid the uber and we went out of the car carrying Leo. He wanted walk but I needed strength for later. I told Leo I wanted to carry him to make up for the times when he was a baby. He nodded and lifted his arms then hugged my neck as I lift him up. We walked to the elevator pressing on the 23rd floor where the venue is located. It was already 10:01 when we got to the floor and I let Leo down as we walked to the event coordinator who was standing in the entourage's entrance since Leo is the ring bearer. "Oh, little Kim, you're just in time. You'll walk after your uncle V. okay? Now come." He hesitated and looked at me with worry. "Buddy, stay with him and listen to his instructions. I'll be inside. Okay?" He smiled and asked, "You're gonna watch me walk, right dada?" I squatted down and held his tiny face. "I will always watch you. Now, go on. You follow him." He hugged me before following the coordinator.

I went through the guest's door and an empty chair by the corner. Roseanne was already standing by the altar while Jennie's brother Taehyung walked down the aisle with a beautiful lady in his arm which I guess was his girlfriend. Then my son followed afterwards who was looking all over the crowd. "Grams! Pops! Hi!" he jumped up and down waving when he saw his grandparents which everybody found cute and they all laughed. He roamed his eyes again and smiled brightly when he met mine. "Dada!" Everyone looked at my direction. Oh no, I hate being in the spotlight. Leo walked to Taehyung and I was met with his eyes full of fierce. Thinking that most people here don't know me, they began gossiping. Maybe because the ring bearer, the bride's son called me dada? But I looked at Roseanne but she just smiled. Really? Maybe because she won this time. The entrance door opened again and everyone stood up. Oh my gosh! Could I even look at her? I don't think I can finish this ceremony either. I was too lost in my thoughts that I did not notice someone sat beside me. "Sorry I was late. I had emergency operation. Leo must've been looking for me." I snap out of my thoughts when I heard her voice. Then I looked at her as smiled at me. "Jennie, what are you doing here?" I was so confused. I thought she was getting married? "What do you mean what am I doing here?" Then I looked at the bride. She was not Jennie. She was her cousin that I remembered before. Then I heard Jennie laugh. It made the butterflies in my stomach go crazy. "Lisa..you thought I was the one getting married to Rosé?" she asked me with amusement. I can't help but sigh in relief. "I did. When Jimin said Roseanne was getting married to a Korean doctor, all I can think of was you. I didn't know that your cousin was also a doctor. I am so glad." I smiled before I realized I said the last words loudly. Then I heard Jennie chuckled. "You're glad huh?" I did not speak again because I was too embarrassed.

The ceremony was over and we were halfway through the reception. I was talking to Jimin and he told me about how Roseanne was so inlove with Jisoo. I did not even dare to tell him I thought she was marrying Jennie. While we were talking, I felt a little hand hugged my legs. I looked down to see Leo. "Hi buddy. Why are you not with your mom?" "She said to get you. She wanted to talk to you. She's with uncle V." Jimin chuckled. "Right, I was surprised to know you're his dad. I thought he was Jin's son when I first saw them together. I forgot she was your ex-wife. You know, the news about her miscarriage spread through the hospital." I felt so ashamed remembering what happened long ago. Then Jimin continued, "Hey, it's a good thing you know. That Jennie was giving you a chance to make up to your son. Who knows, she'll let you in again sooner. We heard she did not have any boyfriend or girlfriend since you." That lifted my spirits up. I smiled at Jimin. "I really hope she does. I've regretted everything. I wanted to make it up to her. To them." before Jimin could answer, Leo interrupted. "Dada. Mommy's waiting." I kissed his head. "Yeah, we're going. See you around Jimin." "Yeah. I should also be going. Thanks for coming though." Then we walked to Jennie's table.

"Lisa. Leo, let dada sit on your chair. Come here in mommy's lap instead." Jennie was about to grab him but he insisted. "No mommy. You have a nice dress. I would sit on dada's lap instead." We both were amused on how thoughtful he is which we also found cute. I chuckled and sat on the empty chair and lifted him up. "Gentleman, I see. You just want to be with me, right?" He nodded shyly before he hugged my neck. Jennie pouted, "You don't want to be with mommy?" He looked at Jennie before answering, "Mommy I do. I just don't want to ruin your dress. Besides I don't get to see dada everyday." We laughed until we heard a cough. "Jenjen?" Then I looked at Taehyung. He had no expression at all. "Tae, I've already told you everything, right? You can't make a scandal here. You can't let us be sad." He nodded and looked at me. "I just want you to know that I am watching you. You know I love my sister more than myself and I vowed to protect her and Leo." I gulped as I remembered how he beat me up the last time that I was admitted to the hospital for a week. "I know. I was a jerk. I promised I'll never hurt her again. I would rather die." "Yeah, you should." Jennie snickered. "Hey, Leo's here, remember? By the way, Tae, where's Olivia?" "I sent her home earlier. She has a shift this afternoon." Jennie looked at me. "The girl he was with earlier is his girlfriend Olivia. She's a nurse in the hospital I work. They've been together for 4 years already. She was nurse when I gave birth. V was with me 24/7 so he ended up seeing Olivia everyday until they met up in a friend's birthday. And that's where it all started." I envied his brother. He was there when Jennie was pregnant. When she gave birth. When my little boy was growing up. He can show and declare his love for his sister proudly. And I could've done that if I was not a jerk. Then her father came up together with her mother. "Lisa. I heard from Jennie. How was the quiz bee? Oh, he's already asleep." I realized I haven't told Jennie about the contest. I didn't even realized realize Leo was already sleeping in my arms. "Oh God. I'm sorry Jen. I forgot to tell you about the contest, but he won. I got the medal here and the trophy was left in his school. Mr. Perry said we can get it by Monday since tomorrow is Friday." She smiled and said, "I already know. He was too excited earlier. He told me you were so supportive and was so happy that his friends told him he had a very handsome dada." Mrs. Kim patted Leo's head. "Such a smart boy. I am so thankful for him. We were sorry we did not tell you Lisa. We all wanted to protect Jennie. You know the boys of this family are very much protective." I smiled because I can see that they were not mad anymore. "I am very sorry Mr. and Mrs. Kim for everything. I regretted everything. I promised I won't let them get hurt again." "That's right. Because if you do, you know what I can do to destroy you, Lisa." I felt goosebumps all over when I heard him. I know how powerful he is. "Yes sir. I understand." "Alright, we'll be heading out. Ella's not well and we wanted to take care of her." Taehyung stood up too. "I am now going too. I have to bring Olivia some dinner. Drive them home safely Lisa. He kissed Jennie's cheek. And I envied him again. I bowed to them and they walked out. Then I looked at Jennie's tired face. "Jennie, do you want to go home now? You looked so tired. I can drive you home." "No, it's okay. I promised Jisoo that I will be at the after party tonight at 8. Its only 3 pm. Going back and forth will be more tiring." "How about you sleep in my hotel room first. I have a room at the 16th floor. You and Leo can share the bed first while I go out to get food for Leo. Then you can go to the party tonight while I watch Leo later." She smiled. "You don't have to do this Lisa." "I want to Jennie. Please I want to be with my son too." And you too Jennie. I want to be with you too. "Well, if you insist. I'll just call Jin later, not dad. Jin is my wingman." Yes! I smiled while she laughed heartily that made the butterflies in my stomach go crazy again. Then we went to the couple to bid goodbye while Jennie promised the after party. They invited me but I refused because I have to take care of my son. We soon went down while my heart was beating madly thinking about Jennie inside my room.
