8. LISA STARTED TO WOO ME

Jennies POV

A week after that family dinner, everything started to sink in – Rosé leaving me, me marrying Lisa, and Lisa started to woo me. You've heard it right, she started to woo me like 3 days ago. I asked her why she's doing this but she just answered Since we are getting married, why not start with getting to know each other? It wouldn't harm you going out with me just once before the wedding, right? So I just said okay and she said we should go out this weekend. Apart from that anticipated date, I found a box of milk and a donut in my locker with a note saying I know you dont eat breakfast. See you around. – Lisa.

This afternoon, as soon as I packed my things and went out of the classroom, I saw her in the corner of the corridor. When our eyes met, she walk towards me

"Are you going home? I'll drive you." I was about to nod when my phone vibrated and saw Nayeon's text saying she'll meet me at the café since we havent seen each other for more than a week. "No need Lisa, I'm going to see Nayeon today in the café nearby." "Then I'll just drop you there. I saw you being dropped by your driver earlier so you must've not driven your car." "Okay, thanks." "Let me take your bag" she held her hand out for me to hand her my bag as the students around looked at us. Who wont look our way? I, the schools nerd – wearing baggy pants, loose shirt, messy bun and big round glasses – was escorted by the schools most beautiful bully whos wearing a very nice black lady slacks and a white button-up shirt that made her look like my sugar daddy. I just lowered my head as we pass by the students to her car.

When we were outside the café, she asked for my phone and dialed her number and then said "Now you have my number, call me when youre done. I'll be the one to fetch you." I was stunned with her words. I never thought I would hear her say that. "It's okay Lisa, I can call the driver." She got out, walked to the other side of the door and opened it for me, "I insist. Promise me you'll call or I'll call you every 5 minutes to ask if you're done" she said and waved her phone displaying my number. "Okay, okay. Fine. I'll call" a call every 5 minutes will be annoying. "I'll see you later Jennie. Have a good chat" she said and left.

As I open the door of the café, Nayeon was looking at me with amusement. "Wasn't it Lisa? You're both already close?" "Bunny. I thats what I wanted to talk to you today" I said and gave her a hug before I sat down "..she was like trying to court me. But she never said she was. All she said was getting to know each other since we're getting married." "She isn't wrong with that though. You both needed to try and work it out. Maybe, you'll feel less lonely." I just shrugged, I guess?". "Have you ordered already?" "Yes ofcourse."

We chatted about how the week went for me, and about Rosés message which she said I have to let go of my feelings because it might complicate my marriage. We also talked about our high school friend, Jongyeon which has transferred into their University. I remembered her. She was one of Lisas group before I told Nayeon. Yeah, she said she knew you like Lisa before. She even asked me when did you start liking her that time so I told her the story Nayeon knew this story. How I was about to sit on my chair when Lisa suddenly beat me to it saying I have to find another chair, or I have to find another school. The boys of her group laughed at me. Only Jeongyeon did not. But instead of getting angry, I was starstrucked of how beautiful her face is and how melodious was her laugh. My heart started beating fast and my cheeks heat up so I quickly turned to look for another chair. It was like that for 5 months until I saw her getting fetched by Uncle Marco. Then, I knew she was that kid who pushed me in that lake. I started distancing myself. I didnt want to get in trouble. She pushed me before, she can do more now.

Nayeon looked at her watch and said "Oh no, its getting late. Lets go Jen, I'll bring you home." And my phone started ringing and I saw Lisa's name. "No it's okay. My driver is on his way. I cant waste his efforts" I lied because I dont think she will let me go with Lisa. "Alright, text me when you get home. Take care. Okay?" I nodded. She kissed my cheeks and went out the door and then I answered my phone as I walked out "Hello. Jennie, I see you have finished catching up. Im outside." I looked at the black Porsche and she was waving. I hung up and walked towards her. "You're here already?" I asked. "Yeah, I was here for almost an hour but I dont mind. Now lets go."

We rode in silence and reach my home after 20 mins. She walked to the other side and opened the door for me again and said, "Dad said we could go and look for your mom's friend boutique tomorrow for a fitting. I think it should be near Kim International. I'll fetch you tomorrow at 10am." "Okay." "Have a goodnight, Jennie."
