Hi guys! sorry for the late update. have been busy with my new project. This would be a very long Lisa and Leo special. so hope you guys enjoy it! :*
LISAS POV
Looking through the window as the clouds we have passed by gets clearer, Jimin's words still clouds up my mind. The wedding will be tomorrow. I haven't texted Jennie yet that I'm coming because I don't want to trouble her with my presence. Yesterday, when Jimin called me to remind his cousin's wedding, he told me that his cousin, Roseanne, knows me and that she would be happy if I can go. So, I guess, I don't have a choice.
It's already dark when we landed, and all I wanted to do was sleep because I'm so tired. The wedding will be at 10am tomorrow and it will be held at the Hilton Hotel. That's where I'm staying. At first I wasn't sure if I should stay here thinking that Roseanne and her will stay here tonight or after the wedding too, but Jimin assured me that the two will be from and to Roseannes mansion. So yeah, time to sleep.
I woke up with the sound of my phone ringing. I picked it up without looking the caller ID because for sure, it would be Jimin since I haven't set an alarm. I was surprised to hear her voice. "Lisa, are you busy now? Is it okay that I called?" My consciousness suddenly awakes and I answered, "No, I'm not busy. I actually just woke up." "Uhmm..is it okay to ask favor? Rosé told me you'll be at the wedding." Oh noh.. I suddenly got nervous. "Hey, anything Jen. Just tell me." She sighed. "Lisa, you know the school where Leo goes to, right?" I nodded and realized Jennie could not see me so I answered instead. "Yeah. The one near the park. What about it?" Why is she mentioning school when she should be busy with her wedding. "Uhmm.. I asked my brother to send Leo there earlier. They have this quiz bee where Leo is the representative of their class and he doesn't want to miss that. My brother wanted to stay but Ella had a fever and my brother can't bring her to school. I am very busy today but I will try my best to be there. As for my parents, their flight last night was cancelled so they had the earliest today which will land at 9.45am. Leo's school event will start at 8:30." I looked at my watched and it's already 8:10 am. The school is 15 minutes away so I can still make it. "Alright. Tell me who he was with right now. And.. would he even let me watch?" I remembered he hugged me the last time I was here so I still am hopeful I could have one because I badly needed it. "Lisa, I talked to Leo. He said he understands and he promised to talk to you. So please Lisa. Look for Mr. Perry, Leo's teacher. I told him you'll come." I smiled as I heard that my son promised to talk to me. "Alright Jen. Don't worry. I promise to take care of him." "Please do Lisa. He's already dressed in 3 piece suit so that would be good for the wedding too. Okay? Thank you Lisa. I'll see you at the wedding later." I suddenly remembered the wedding that made me sad. But I decided to be tough and be with my son first. "Okay. See you." I ended the call.
When I arrived at the school, there were many children. Most of them are gradeschoolers. I just read a banner that says '104th foundation day' and this must be all about it. I asked the guard about Mr. Perry's class and he told me it's the second door on the left side building but I might see them just outside because the kids were already playing. I was already wearing a 3 piece suit for the wedding so I don't have to bother changing later. I walked faster as I was excited to see my son, until I reached the left building where there was a playground full of kids and some are with nannies. I looked around to check if Leo was with them, but I haven't seen him. I was about to walk to the second door when a little kid bumped me softly. I crouched down and ask if she was okay but she looked at me with wide eyes before running towards the door. Then I heard her say, "Leo! You're dada is here! Come on!" I smiled thinking that the kid had saw my resemblance with Leo and immediately called him. I walked to the door where the little girl went but they already were running out with the little girl holding his little hands. Leo then looked at me before he smiled and ran into me. I was too surprised that I haven't realized he was already hugging my legs. I picked him up and noticed his eyes were getting teary. "Hey buddy! What's wrong? Did you miss me?" He nodded shyly before encircling my neck with his tiny arms and I was so happy. I didn't expect that this day would come sooner. I then heard him sniffle. "Hey, baby. I'm here. Why are you crying?" He loosened his grip and looked at me with a frown. "I thought you would not come. I am very nervous dada." OH MY GOD! He just called me dada! I hugged him again and said, "I will always be here when you need me buddy. And don't be nervous, okay? You will do very good because you are mommy and dada's kid. Don't get pressured with the people, okay? Just listen to the questions and just look at me. Alright buddy?" I felt him nod and saw a middle aged man wearing a cowboy hat coming towards us. "Goodmorning ma'am. Are you Leo's parent?" I nodded and smiled at him. "I'm sorry sir. I was a little late." He smiled and said, "No worries. Leo's mom already told me the situation. Please come with me. You can sit with Leo in the front of the stage." He lead the way and we got into a big room with a stage. The stage has 4 podiums with mic and buzzer which I guess where the student's will have their competition. They also have a foot stool for the littlest one to stand which I guess will be Leo's. Mr. Perry had lead me to a chair in front beside a blonde teacher who was about my age. "Please have a seat. The host will start later. As soon as he calls out the names, the kid should go up there." I smiled politely at him. "Thank you sir." He smiled and looked at Leo who would not want to go down. "Leo Kim, remember to relax. Okay? And dont worry about your opponents, they're just bigger, but youre smarter. Alright Kim?" My son nodded and made a fist bomb with the teacher. The teacher then said his goodbyes.
I sat down still with Leo in my hands. The teacher beside me smiled as she saw Leo and asked him, "Leo, she's your mom? You looked so much alike. You even have the same outfit." She looked at me with a playful smile but I didn't have time for that. I was about to answer her but my kid beat me to it, "She's my dada. Not mom. My mom is the Doctor." The teacher got confused so Leo continued, "My dada is half boy with a weenie like mine. And my mommy is a girl." The teacher blushed upon realizing what Leo said. Jennie might have explained it to him and so he understood how we have him. The shot me a meaningful look but I still didnt mind her. She might have got it that I don't want to talk so she said, "Leo's opponents are grade schoolers." I raised one eyebrow at her and she continued, "Two second graders and one first grader. Leo was the most intelligent student of the preschoolers. So when we found out that Leo can answer a question that the second graders could not, we had him enter the quiz bee which he gladly accepted. I believe that your kid can answer all questions." I never knew he was this smart. I smiled thinking he is just like Jennie. Very smart and competitive. I told the teacher, "Just like her mom. One of the reasons I love her." Then I kissed my son's head. The announcer went to the stage and greeted everyone. He also announced the mechanics which there will be 10 questions each round from easy to very hard and the subject of math and science. Then he called out the students. Leo was the last one to be called. "The last contender of this quiz bee is the most intelligent preschool student. He is small but terrible. Mind you guys, he's very smart. Leo Kim!" Everybody applauded and I put him down. I told him, "Go buddy. Be like mommy. Okay? I'll get you everything you want after this. If you win, I'll even get you more." He smiled and nodded and ran to the stage.
"For the final round, we have only 1 question that is worth 25 points. We have our 2nd grader Hailey Hemsworth as the leading player with 70 points. However, if our 1st grader Grant Stanton with 60 points and our preschooler Leo Kim with 65 points can answer first and correctly, we will declare the winner." The emcee had announced. The other second grader has been eliminated earlier as the rules says they only got 3 answers wrong to be eliminated. I'm so proud of my boy to be on the final round. "Alright, we will give you a sign board and a marker, but still you have to press the button before you write your answer. Be sure to write the correct spelling, okay kids?" The kids nodded as they received the sign board. Leo looked at me biting his lower lip. He's nervous. I know. Because that's how Jennie does when she's nervous like those time that she had to present her case study which she practiced inside our house. I smiled at Leo mouthing him 'You can do it baby! I'm right here!' He puffed his cheeks and then raised his little thumb up. "Alright kids. The final question will be about science. Okay, listen up for the final question. What makes the color of our eyes?" 5 seconds passed but nobody pressed the button. Then I saw my son writing. He looked at me and pressed his button. "Okay, Little Einstein. Show me what you got there." Leo raised his sign board with the words 'Melanin' written with wriggly lines. "Wow! Now tell me Mr. Kim about your answer." Leo looked at me again. Then I nodded at him. "My mom is a doctor. And I asked her questions most of the time. I asked about why the color of her eyes is different with mine. She said that because I got my eyes from my dada. And that we had less melanin in the front layer of our iris that makes the color of the eyes. And I wrote the spelling depending on how my mom would say it." I was so shocked by his answer. And so does everyone. Especially the emcee. "Mr. Kim. You really are the little Einstein. Are you sure you're 4? Because you got the right answer!" Everybody cheered. So was I. I even jumped on my seat knowing my boy just won the quiz bee. He really is Jennie's son!
My son smiled as the emcee and the teachers congratulated him. He received a medal and a trophy. He went running to me after receiving with a proud smile. "Dada! Look! I won! I won!" I smiled and gave him a kiss. "Congratulations buddy! What do you want dada to buy for you?" He smiled at me showing his teeth and said, "Can we also buy for Ella? And mommy? Can we go shopping tomorrow?" My son is so thoughtful. I am very much inlove with him now. "Sure baby. We'll get your mommy's permission later okay?" He nodded and hugged me again. The teachers and other parents congratulated me for having such a smart son. I looked at my watch an it's no 9.40. We should be at the wedding hall. "Leo, you say goodbye to your friends now. We'll be going then." He smiled and ran to his friends saying hell be going to attend a wedding. He went back and held my hand as we walk back to the car.
